Liverpool will want a more proven manager than Lambert or Rodgers, both of whom have only spent a season in the league. Martinez looks like the favourite, but I wouldn't rule out someone like AVB or even Benitez!

I wouldn't be a bit surprised to see Lambert get it. He's played at the highest level, including a Champions League win and has excelled at Norwich.

Having just been down the "tried & tested" route, I think the may go for a young manager but one who would command respect given the achievements in his career. Lambert could well be that man.

You kinda contradict yourself there.

I think he should leave the jacks this season, can't see him doing this well again next season.

Agree; I think that Lambert is likelier to land the post than Rodgers due to what you say regarding his playing achievements on top of his already excellent managerial career.

He does seem like the type who takes no shit, doesn't he?

How? Martinez has 3 seasons' worth of Premier League experience as a manager whilst Lambert and Rodgers only have one each. I wouldn't say that he's completely proven himself just yet, though guiding Wigan to survival for 3 consecutive seasons is some achievement, don't you think?
