So whats the diffrence then back in jan or start of next season, because if we didnt spend money while in a position in the league like we had in 2nd place two points off top in jan then somebody tell me when is a better time. Next season its a dead start with ZERO games played whatever makes people think we are going to spend millions then frankly i think there deluded and going off form after feb to now we would be bottom half team next year. I wouldnt stop for 2nd place in a race with ten meters to go and say f**k it we can do it next year again as thats whats happened this season. After jan it was downhill as results/form/table does not lie yet we was crying out for players even the manager was all season

This is the scenario i also fear. Like i said, we [club] could be going around in circles for years to come.

We never expected to finish much above mid table this season, so what's the problem?

exactly - and we're still not completely without a chance of getting up this year at this late stage - we may be tomorrow, but still a great season :ayatollah:

What was the man supposed to say? That we played great? But lost to a better side? That we are premiership quality? FFS! wake up. We are what we are. A top 6 championship club, end of. We need addional quality at the club... I think the bloke has simply told it as it is. We were second best on thursday to a team with far greater strength in depth and quality. We need to strengthen in key areas.

Every season there is a group of teams going into January who look like serious contendors for promotion. Out of all these teams, the teams that add quality players to their squad in the January transfer window, generally get promotion. e.g Southampton added Billy Sharp, Reading added Jason Roberts. Qpr strenthened massively, so did Norwich. We only brought in Elliot Parish and Kadeem Harris in January, both of whom have't even made their debuts yet.

If we could of got 2 or 3 quality players in the January transfer window, we would of been fighting for the top 2 until the end of the season. Our current squad isn't good enough for promotion, which is the sad reality. Malky said he was backed in January and made substantial bids for players, but it means nothing if you don't go and sign those players. Hopefully this summer he can use that money to go and buy some quality players for next season and beyond. :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

I agree with the point that Cardiff City need to spend money to bring in quality, where i have concerns is in Malky's ability to bring quality into our team, look at the signings he has made, how many of those singings would get into the West Ham team,Reading,Southampton, how many ?? and this wanting a big target man to be brought into the team, you say it would not necessarily mean us playing the long ball game,i disagree, we already play hoof ball now with a forward line totally unequipped to play such a tactic

Good call ! We need Ian Gibson in midfield, with Don Murray keeping the defence solid in front of Big Jim Eadie and pumping the ball up to Brian Clark and Tosh.
If that still doesn't work, we'll bring Ronnie Bird on for the last ten minutes in case he can smack one of his forty yarders in before he gets knackered !
