They we never swap the family and Canton..

Do you think the Malaysians or any other financial backer are proud that our club has the greatest number of banning orders ?

Mass football violence has been legislated away, the pursuers of it probably have a string of violence convictions and its just a reflection of themselves.

The us and them attitude of our "old school proper naughty" fans is simply selfish, the club will die with them, we need to reinvent ourselves that''s evolution.

The problem as I see it is the club is run by amateurs, we are a fledgling medium sized club with small club mentality. The fans need a stronger voice and the club need to treat the fans as partners. A start would be a unreserved standing area in both the ninian and canton,so you can congregate with your mates, (there would be 800 unreserved seating tickets for 113) cheaper beer and food. The effort made in the family stand is great, but needs to be replicated throughout the facility.

football still has its good days, but will never be like it used to. we never used to watch div 4 for the pretty football. i cant stick the new stadium, it lacks identity, atmosphere and is full of soft boiled eggs. City till i die anyway.

West Ham are no different really to Reading or Watford or any other of the faceless south east of England clubs - you just have more fickle, plastic prawn sandwich munchers than them.

Crystal Palace made 10 times more noise in the Carling Cup semi here than West Ham. I'm not just saying that, they did.

Drivel for confratation is exactly what you write as you cant face facts . Now you bitter bitch take your bitch fit elswhere you numptie !![/quote]

No real offence intended ;). But you haven't addressed the facts either - my point is that West Ham is no different to any other club.

Cardiff at Ninian obviously reminded you of West Ham in the 80s - West Ham are nothing like that now.

You're mixing up the old Cardiff with the old football - it's all changed everywhere, some for the worst but a lot for the better. I love atmosphere but don't like violence. I don't want to go back to the 80s.

Here endeth the bitch fit.

You also don't need violence for an identity, if you go to the football to cause violence you aren't helping your club, yourself, anyone. You should go to the football to create atmosphere and enjoy the match, not for a fight. If you're going for a fight you must not care about the former.

it wasnt all about the trouble it was about belonging
a good example i went to brentford away in the early 80s i was 15, after paying for the bus a few cans and a few expensive pints in london ( OVER A POUND A PINT SHOCKING :o ) i was skint. the city boys in the pub we were in had a whip round to look after the young wippersnapper and i ended up going home with more money than i went up with.
thats what ccfc used to be like looking after their own and its something i have allways tried to do
CCFC....THE PRIDE OF WALES :ayatollah:

Can you book me on that bus for the first away game next season

In a nutshell ... From some of the biggest "scumbags" in the UK to family club of the year ... Back when you had this so-called identity only people of a certain mindset went to your games didn't they, 4,000 crowds and all ...

Having said that, Swansea's fanbase has become filled with teenage girl types, some posers/plastics, etc, yet we still maintain a good atmosphere at the Liberty Stadium, a Norwich fan who came here last season having been to in his words "many grounds around the UK" described us as the loudest home fans in the country? Likewise many other visiting away fans have praised our atmosphere ...

And just look at our magnificent away from since arriving at the Liberty. Last year we were midtable away from home whilst having the best home form in the Championship.

Re: What happened to Cardiff City... we have lost our identity

Sat May 05, 2012 11:02 am

All this banging on about the atmosphere at Ninian Park is pointless - it's gone forever and we have to deal with the situation in front of us i.e. how to create an atmosphere in the CCS ( I agree with the Jack above, the atmosphere I've seen on the tv has been good at the Liberty - it seems like more areas of the ground sing ).

To my mind atmosphere is diminished when you have the number of shouters/singers diluted by those who don't want to ( not all of them are 'plastics' - I don't tend to chant in response to what's served up on the pitch/and to encourage - but can be quite quiet on times ). This is why at WHU monday there will be a better atmosphere.

Solution ? well, we're not going to get rid of 'new ' fans/people who want to sit/not here bad language and I wouldn't want to - they are entitled to watch the match same as me and are just as much a City fan. I'm not sure with seated stadia that you can get the congregation of people that you need to really create a good atmosphere for us ( maybe the 2000 WHU away can be housed together - the Ninian lot move to the Canton ?? )unless we apply away rules i.e. free for all as you get in which seems to work. Obviously safe terracing like in Germany would solve this.

So, other teams manage it - so what's their secret - maybe we should ask around and put the ideas forward to the CCS.

Oh, and one last thing - anyone who thinks that smashing one Jack who comes for a drink with his wife to the Ninian would make us look anything but a bunch of classless cunts is mistaken

Football is fast becoming shit accross the board. The only good games are away days and the old bill are trying to ruin them at every opportunity as well. Fans are just a customer number, in general they only give a fuck about you when you're buying a ticket or merchandise.

That's actually some of the most interesting points I have seen you make in ten years of posting on message boards

The club have got lots wrong in my opinion with the move, and as you say the Malaysian flags etc look cheap and armaturish, along with the Perspex cladding before it! When clubs pay individuals over 20k a week yet can,t find the money for a statue that commemorates our best ever player, then something's not right.

You are also correct in fearing what your own club will soon become, because if you do eventually move, it will be even worse for you, as the OS is a frighteningly shit venue for staging football games. From type of ground and tight knit set of supporters that WHU are, then in my opinion this move will be the worst ever in history, over night WHU and what it means will not only be destroyed but will die.

Good luck with that :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

West Ham still have some of their old indentity left as they have an old fashioned ground. Daya acknowledges it will be curtains once they go to the OS.

Fair points - the club has got things wrong but also they've got plenty right too.

Bit harsh about the playstations as that's only in the family stand and that's one of the things they've got mostly right - the family stand isn't the problem.

There was a family stand at Ninian too and it didn't detract from the atmosphere.

I think a couple of blocks in the Canton Stand of unrestricted seating and a block of unrestricted seating in the Ninian Stand next to the away fans would make a difference.

To be fair, the atmosphere seems pretty decent in the Canton anyway - it's the Ninian Stand that lets the side down in my opinion.

And identity is to do with the fans anyway, nothing to do with bricks and mortar. Go to a City away game and you will see all is well among the hardcore.

The main trouble going back to the debate - it's the hardcore on them of football fans - which is now the minority outnumbered by the majority happy claapy sit down fan - any club until possibly you go down the leagues, I guess it's the price of on field success . More money required , more Franchise and Corporation required . Oh well at least us old farts have the memories , the new fan only enjoys what he knows and they I'm afraid are the majority today .
