Very good point.

It annoyed me last night that when we were 3-0 down, Hull had a corner and we left no one around the half way line, ball just came back at us once we cleared the corner. Personally id have kept two players up and tried to hit them on the break.
Just leaving one player around the half way mark is productive anyway as they will always bring back two players to make him

They were not the best officials I agree with that, but we lost because we were totally out played.

You make your own luck in football, sometimes decisions go your way sometimes they don't, it evens out over a season.
Lets be honest and not kid our selves,Hull were the better team on the night.

Malky Mackay criticises match officials

Cardiff City manager Malky Mackay laments Kevin McNaughton's own goal in their 3-0 defeat by Hull and criticises the match officials for their part in his side's defeat.

Remember reading post on Watford Forum which said Malky had a habit of blaming match officials, looks like it wasn't just sour grapes. Lets be honest our display was worse than poor so frustrating no shape and no idea's, what's the answer, mine would be keep 3 from that team and the rest get rid............

Quite right Fella.....it was not the officials......we lost 3-0 for crying out loud........and if we had chances to score 3 or 4 they missed another 5.Malky has done a great job but him and the players need to sit down and pull something together before sunday. If players are carrying knocks or are out of form lets get the squad plyers in for sunday and give them a rest. If we pick players like quinn, Darcy and earnie it will give us some players on the field with something to proove and their drive and passion may carry the rest of the team.We need a good start and the crowd to get behind the team, coz i fear if we go a goal behind it could be the end of our season.

I really hope Malky is not like that all the time, we have to admit when we are second best even if it hurts to say so.

Understand where you are coming from but can't agree with that perhaps with the exception of Darcy.

Earnie does not fit Malky's system (not his fault but Malky didn't choose to get him on board in the first place). Malky's not going to produce a Plan B that fits with Earnie's style with 10 games to go. I think Miller has done a good, creative job all season even tho' he hasn't scored that many. Don't blame Miller, it's the way Malky wants to play.

Quinn? Where has he been in the reckoning all season? Bring on someone who's not match ready in a key defensive position when we are leaking goals already? No.

It's too late to fundamentally change the team this late in the season (especially in defence) which means --

1. The existing set of preferred players will grow extra legs as our squad is not full of top of the championship players
2. We get magic loanees
3. We agree that Malky cannot produce miracles with the current squad and we really are "rebuilding"

Let's imagine we win the playoffs. Seriously - who would you take for a start in the PL???? Even a one armed, 6 fingered Jack could do the counting (as long as it didn't get past 3).

Despite the club's debt issues we need fresh faces with quality -- that takes money. If anyone rolls out the '"well the Jacks did it without spending" then you are basically accepting that Buck Rogers has done a great job (Jack b*stard) and Malky hasn't.

Annis - in my humble view, Malky's claims about officials' errors are more about getting some comfort and putting out a negative (about officials) and a positive (for club morale) message but I agree with you that blaming it all on the referees is unrealistic. I'm sure the dressing room message did not reflect Malky's "press" message.

What exactly has quinn ever done wrong.........maybe its me but he always seems to give 100% and ive seen him put in some barnstorming games and tackles.I dont belive in this system thing........good players adapt.......and i never mentioned who id leave out .........if we play earnie and miller together.....we just need to keep the ball on the grass...where football is meant to be played, and incidently where we play our best football. All im saying is we keep harping on about having a small squad....we keep saying other teams have bigger squads.............yet we dont even play the few players we have........???????? KEEP THE FAITH........we can still do it.......we start again on sunday afternoon. :ayatollah:

There's no doubting that taking the whole 90 minutes into account, Hull were the better team!

However, there was very little difference in the sides up to half time, Hull were only leading from a bizarre McNaughton own goal and had Turner's goal not been incorrectly ruled out, the second half could have been a whole lot different!
