its all down to our history, the c.c.s is a very safe place for away fans to visit, chelsea aside, I can't think of any other major incident involving our fans for a good few years! the city of cardiff in general is a very friendly place to visit compared to a lot of other city's in the u.k. But still a lot of other fans, the police, magistrates etc hear "CARDIFF" and they automatically think "HOOLIGANS" and that's down to the well published *sometimes over exaggerated* past history of our fans behaviour! I have to admit though, when I hear storeys of what our fans got up to back in the 80s etc when most other clubs fans were upto the same thing, I don't feel ashamed of it, infact I do feel pretty much chuffed that our fans had a reputation for sticking up for themselves and holding there own in what I suppose was a pretty violent era! football violence is very much outdated now, and should be left in the past were it belongs. but I will never be ashamed of our clubs past history..no matter how misbehaved our fans may have sometimes been. when we wern't that much cop on the pitch, it was our fans that made our club famous lol

The courts come down harder on Cardiff and to a lesser extent Swansea fans because the problem is a lot worse than most other clubs.

Partly correct. Historically the problem is worse but I've seen no trouble at the CCS and over past few seasons i have been to a fair few away games (WBA, Reading, Watford, Oxford, Southampton, Wembley, Bournemouth plus a few more) and the only minor trouble i saw was at Reading when 20 or so CCFC tried to get at a few Reading who had attempted to get into away end. We're not perfect but compared with 80s and 90s we are well behaved.

We got family club of year award which is a testimony to the strides we have made. I take my 8 year old and 15 year old into pubs before games-would never have done so 15 years ago.

You can't shed a reputation overnight,it'll take years.It's non existent in Swansea now and and getting that way at yours by the sounds of things.The courts are doing an excellent job.
