Today, I saw a Liverpool fan. I thought he'd say the usual 'Cardiff sucks' but I was shocked in a good way. He gave me a handsake and congratulated me for the team doing so well. :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

Yesterday makes you feel proud to be a bluebird, and just shows we are a premiership side, you all gave more than 100%, brought tears to mine and my sons eyes as we know how much hard work and effort you all chipped in, none of you play for your selfs you all play as a unit a team and for the shirt, we couldn't ask for anything else.

Can you tell them from me:

Don't any of you dare feel bad or regret yesterday's game, I am the proudest fan in the world right now, and this is the proudest team I ever could have wished for, shit happens(use an alternative word if needed) and anything could have happened, you are heroes, legends, icons to us all and we look up to all of you with pride and emotion. As Malky you have said it dosen't matter how terrible a mistake, how poor a mistake it was, we, the normal die-hard fans will ALWAYS forgive mistakes, but a lack of effort is something which we will question, and throughout every single minute you have played for us none of you have lacked the effort. Be Proud, you are the winners in our eyes.

Special mention to those on the bench and reserves espec Stevie McPhail, you are all heroes to us, rarely before have I looked at the badges you wear and remind myself how lucky we are to have such great ambassadors and passion, and class we have wearing our iconic shirt.

Thank you so so so so so much. Let's get promoted lads, wish we could have a statue of you all!

CraigCCFC said it would be nice to do something to show the lads we care and appreciate their efforts yesterday. So one of the things I thought we could do would be to do a tributes thread where you all post up something positive (any ridiculous negativity to be deleted please!) to the players and then maybe Carl or Annis could print it off and pass it on to the players so they can read this out.

It might be a good way for them to realise how highly we think of them. It will let Miller know that his late miss was unlucky because he did outstandingly well to get into that position and create the chance. It will let Rudy know he performed much better than a £35m rated target man. It will let Gunnarsson, Cowie, Whittingham and Mason know that they matched a Premiership midfield. It will let Super Kev and Taylor know that they held tight and stopped dangerous wide men from putting decent crosses in. It will let Turner and Hudson know that we respect how much they put their bodies on the line. It will let Heaton know that even though we lost the shoot out, his save was one of the best penalty saves ever. It will let Blake and Kiss know that their brutality made sure Liverpool did not settle. It will let Tony G know that know matter what he thinks, it's the fact he stepped up that matters to us, not that he missed. Like I said, anyone can miss a penalty but not anyone can have the balls to step up to the plate. It will also let Malky and his staff know that they have evolved this club for the better and that there is a job to finish here with a legacy to be made that could last for decades.

So lads, give your thoughts here and if I could ask Carl or Annis or anyone close to the team to print these posts off and pass them onto the players. :ayatollah:

Sorry i do not agree i believe the only way to show our appreciation is to fill the ground with our supporters to the rafters and from the first whistle put as much effort and noise suporting them as the effort they put in trying to win the cup for us.

Pride in the shirt a magnificent effort from everyone involved with the Bluebirds including all the backroom and coaching staff who got the players so well prepared.

Malky for seting up the team and sending them out to win and take the game to Liverpool and every player who give every last drop of sweat and matched Liverpool for 120 minutes and drew the game 2-2.

Then huge admiration for the 5 penalty takers for having the guts and courage to say yes boss i will take a penalty and when they failed it was a collective failiure and the pain of Gerrard was shared by all.

Thank you each and everyone of you and has a result of your efforts every Cardiff fan left Wembley with their heads held high personally i've never felt so proud to be a Bluebird and send you all my heart felt thanks :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

Liverpool 1 v 1 Cardiff FT

Liverpool 2 v 2 Cardiff AET

Penalty Shoot Out Lottery - Irrelevant

Liverpool are 7th in the Premier League and arguably the most successful football Club in Britain. Their football team contains players reportedly worth £135 Million and they beat Man City over two legs to get to the final.

We on the other hand are only a Premier League team in waiting. Our team worth just a fraction of Liverpool's but yesterday in open play they could not beat us in 120 mins of football. Why was that? Well let me tell you how I saw it. We were together a band of brothers, eggo-less individuals moulded into a team, playing for each other, your management team and us the fans.It was not a one off either because you players have shown all season that you can play top quality football. Liverpool didn't know what to do because you were a wall of blue, solid but not in an immobile way because you sprang to counter attack at every opportunity and the mighty Liverpool FC were scared. Kenny Daglish was scared, Steven Gerrard was scared, believe me they were all f****** scared. They really didn't have an answer because they were up against a good team with a good manager.

The Carling cup was a wonderful journey and I thank each and everyone of for the experience. The day my football club took on one of football's greats with some of the best players in World and we held our own. No shame lads, no blame just a togetherness and belief that we are the Mighty Cardiff City and we are invincible.

It's time lads, your time and our time as fans. The time has come, 14 cup finals for a place in the English Premier League and if it takes the Play offs, so be it. You should have no fear because I've got no doubts that no one is ever going to beat you on that Wembley pitch again because it yours, you own it, by virtue of your very own blood, sweat and tears impregnated into every blade of grass and every sod of earth.

So together lets move on and achieve something that I've never seen, top flight football for our great club and I've been watching since 1970. I hope in training you will look into each others eyes and ask are you up for it ? Because we as fans are and next season lets play Liverpool on our patch.

The emotions we all went through during the final simply cannot be put into words, forget drugs and alcohol, this is what it’s all about. I am now physically and mentally drained but the absolute pride I have from backing a team that gives absolutely everything for our badge is overwhelming. No fingers need any pointing other than in all honesty we shouldn’t have ever got to Wembley on paper, but we did!! Only finger that goes up is the middle one to all the doubters, haters and detractors (not forgetting the Jacks). I am absolutely sure we have now gained a new generation of Bluebird fans and galvanised our current diehards who will keep the dreams of success alive.

Malky’s boys have done themselves and us proud, thanks for the journey Bluebirds, now lets kick on in the league...... ONE LOVE

Simply outstanding yesterday - You made Premiership teams stop and look at what we had to offer, and put in a shift that most teams would be proud of. Absolutely brilliant.

Re: " Official Tributes Thread "

Mon Feb 27, 2012 5:18 pm

An absolutely magnificent effort to take the mighty Liverpool to a penalty shoot-out; something I could never have envisaged. To take the lead was one thing but to equalise in the final 2 or 3 minutes of extra time was truly extraordinary. For me, this was the highlight of the season so far. So often this season you have rightly been labelled as a team (and a squad) that 'never gives up'. Yesterday was the finest example conceivable. We fans are arguably as exceptionally proud of your endeavours now as we will be all season. Keep it up lads because we are delighting in this wonderful season. Promotion would be a monumental bonus, but one we're sure you can accomplish :ayatollah:

But all this could never have been possible without the main man. Malky is god! :ayatollah:

BLUEBIRDS! :ayatollah:

I was so so proud to be a Bluebird yesterday. You played for the shirt, you showed spirit, courage and pure determination and were so unlucky to lose on penalties. We were talking to a load of Liverpool fans who praised you so so highly and are convinced that you will earn your place in the Premiership next Season, and most of them said that we deserved to win.

You won in my eyes, and we are so very proud of each and every one of you !!!! IMWT<3

Well done for your outstanding efforts in Wembley lads. We could all see you gave it 110% and continued right to the end, even when cramp started to besiege a lot of you. I was unlucky to not attend due to a shortage in money but I was watching on the TV and I was screaming for you all the way through and I (as I'm sure everyone else is) am very proud of you all. You and Malky are the reasons that Cardiff City are the greatest team in Wales and that will NEVER change! Keep your chins up and feel happy that you took us all the way to the final! Now let's concentrate on the league and get up to the Premiership! Bluebirds!

One of my produest moments as a City fan, not one of those players or staff or anyone else should feel guilty or dissapointed or anything else. Every player wore their heart on their sleeve and showed what it meant to be a Cardiff City player. From every person in South Wales, thanks you.

Please do not apologise for what is the best performance that I have ever witnessed from a Cardiff team. I am so glad that you chose to do it on the world stage with everyone watching and I am so proud that my son and I were there to see it.
The passion and effort displayed by the whole team yesterday is the reason that us fans are not despondent because you must realise that we went home yesterday with a sence of pride that made us feel like winners.I believe that your greatest achievements are still ahead of you under Malky's reign and us fans have an ultimate belief that together, we will soon reach our true potential.

So proud of the team performance. Everyone of the players was a hero. they made a top Premiership team look very ordinary. I travelled down from Gwynedd with my son, got home 2 this morning. Our third time at Wembley and we are so glad we were there to see such a fantastic performance. The whole of Wales can be proud of you boys and you'll get what you deserve - promotion. Thanks and proud to be blue.

i have never in my life been so proud to be a bluebird, every single player can hold their heads up high and remember the day they took liverpool to penalties in a cup FINAL. The only downside is you have converted part time supporter into full tyime supporter she now wants a st.
