LONDON IMMIGRATION

True annis I'm a bay boy too and my grandfathers worked they came over when shipping was booming but it's not the fault of any immigrant coming over here it's the government giving out handouts so when some blame immigrants they have to look at the people in charge first:ayatollah: but like I've said ITS TO LATE NOW The damage is done look at butetown it's full of Somalis but how can they be to blame if you know what I mean?

True no one can blame them for getting something for nothing, it is our Govts fault and the previous Govts fault.

My father was Egyptian and family from Tiger Bay, I am very proud of my fathers background and my heritage.

But when my family came here they came to work and if you never you would be left in the gutter and not for handouts and everything on a plate like a lot of the Albanians/Romanians etc are doing now.

Annis, the big problem I see is that the EU has really been unhelpful to Britain with immigration because there is nothing we can do about the influx. However most 'anger' tends to be directed to people with a different skin colour who are typically not European and can't claim benefits - so there is some underlying racism. It was disgusting that Labour had so many loopholes that a Pole could claim allowances from us for his family when in actual fact his family are in Poland! Crazy.

Or put it this way if any of you were living in a shit hole living in a hut made from sheets and sticks with no electric running water etc and you had a chance to go to country where the government gives you house and money car etc what would you do.????

A russian came up chatting about cardiff city and wished us well against liverpool and the asian guy working at denham station was brilliant and saved us a few quid on tickets and parking

I know it's the guardian but it outlines some of the immigration and expatriation facts. It may surprise many but the 'net' flow is not actually that great. It excludes EU immigration though. Seems like asylum applications and approvals have gone down a fair bit since Labour were ousted.

We are a small Island and of course an open door policy has not served us well. Successive government have got it wrong. Blaming the immigrants though is very small minded.

We are though to some degree reaping what we sowed. Colonisation - raping and pillaging of resources from our colonies... Rule Britiannia and all that crap... well many of these immigrants are in Britain looking for a piece of the pie that we robbed and raped them off years ago.

Let's not forget that many of our colonies also fought against the Nazis in world war 2 to protect Britain and take down hitler. What do you want to say to them "thanks for helping now Feck off!". Lovely.

Would there be more jobs for British people if immigrants went back home? No way. Look at the number of successful British businesses are run or have been started by immigrants. Annis is from an immigrant family - do you want them to feck off or stop breeding?

You are dead right, voicing concerns - and immigration is a concern, is a good thing. However let's be clear about history and the facts. Then we can have a proper debate.

An immigrant from Africa get's no or very little support from the state. They have to work so get a job at Wembley stadium that a Brit refuses to take because the money is not good enough (or the job is below them) and by taking it may lead to a reduction or pulling of benefits. The benefits the Brit is getting are paid for by you and I through our taxes. I was speaking to someone at the FA Cup final in 2008 who was responsible for recruitment at and this happens all the time.

Mate I hear you, and I agree, I'm from a mixed race family myself, but as you pointed to earlier, we are a small country, the days of us ruling a 3rd of the world are long gone and I just can't see how we can sustain the rate and pace of imogration in this country as it is now without things starting to seriously break down, there has to come a time when we say enough is enough and start to close the floodgates! Britain is becoming more and more devided into more and more minority groups, I just think its time now to slow the imogration rate down
