Hes done an amazing job and thoroughly deserves this new contract, this season for me was about rebuilding and putting the pride back into Cardiff city Fc .malky has done this and more.
When Jones, our "stars" and gutless loan players left we faced a long struggle of a season and come feb/march we in the playoffs and carling cup final-unbelievable really
hope all the backroom staff have been suitably rewarded aswell
in malky we trust :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

This should have been announced after the Carling Cup final, that is where the club focus should be this week, the biggest game of the season so far.

Feck me there's some happy souls on here! If we won the champions league some people would be saying "we'll never win it next year"!

I'd hate to be in the trenches with some of you, i'd shoot myself

I am delighted and extremely happy that he has committed himself to the club for another 3 and half years, but managers and players contracts, seem to be ripped up very easily, if the price is right, and agents get very good fees for moving people around football.

I am a very cynical football fan and my cynicism hopefully will not see me in the trenches with anyone for all our sakes !!!! :D :D :D :D

Brilliant news as we may have been exposed to losing him to a Premier League club.

What he has achieved in a short period of time is phenomenal.

Let's celebrate by winning the Carling Cup! :ayatollah: :D

Re: " MALKY COMMITS TO CARDIFF LONG TERM ! "

This really is the best news.

Malky is very much a measured worldly-wise chap and a real talent. He knows the importance of realistically matching our club and his personal ambitions versus our commercial capacity/ambitions to support this growth. A realist in Professional Football.

This means that all parties are in it for the medium to longer term. To be honest, my biggest concern since Malky took over was him leaving early (to be honest) if he didn't get the support that he, as manager, needed from TG and co & us, the supporters. He performed miracles within a few weeks last summer to produce a side that has performed very, very well considering the circumstances and if your a Bluebird of a certain vintage, you'll know exactly what I mean. Only last summer, post DJ, we were looking to see who would quickly engage as a manager with the season only weeks away from kick-off. Out of all the names in the frame, we were very lucky that Malky eventually came through despite many other names in the frame - he is such an asset and I know he's sees us (CCFC) as an absolute asset to work with and to be a part of. Football's in his blood and he wants to be a club and set-up that truly supports this. As said, my main concern was that he would be cherry-picked from us this season as other up-and-coming-talented-managers have been. See you Jimmy!

So, with that in mind - if we don't go up this season, I am not entirely bothered. If we don't win the Carling Cup, I am not entirely bothered, either. I won't be entirely pleased, but there you go. But the future though, looks very good indeed.....the future is bright, the future is Blue (with a yellow and white stripe!) ....C'mon City :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

Great, but interestingly, with Brian McDermott also signing a new extended contract with Reading yesterday, was this an indication that Wolves were sniffing around here?

Brilliant news :D

With this news and the lack of major transfer activity in the transfer and loan windows I'm even more convinced now that the malaysians are more concerned with the long term stability and success of the club than an all eggs in to one basket approach to immediate promotion to the premier league, which is fine by me :ayatollah:

What I believe has happened is this:

Malky went up to the Malaysians, heard their plans for the future, they listened to
what he was looking for, and both parties agreed to extend the contract. Because
they are both pulling in the right direction. They trust each other. they want to
see Cardiff City in that Premiership playing in front of 35,000 crowds!!!

What YOU believe is (you practically said it) is that Malky is a gutless manager
and has agreed to toe the company line and lie through his teeth on behalf of
Vincent Tan for the next five years.

One of us looks a right f*cking thick prick here. Hope its not me.

Everyone in a job says yes to the man paying you or the boss so whats the diffrence,he just does as hes told its not rocket science to work that out :ayatollah:

All this means is that when Malkay leaves us the compo will be greater.

The club have probably given him a bonus but they know should we beat the scousers any serious offer would render the contract as useless as the paper it's written on.

So, in effect MM's price as been raised .......Don't take him for granted, he wont be here long :old:

Thats standard in Football is it?

Successful players and managers get called into the Boss mans office, they
get offered an extended contract and they all say yes, cos the Boss says so.

Cheers for that.

Honestly mate, you're fast becoming the biggest cock on here! (and you've got some major competitors)
I don't know TaffyApple I've never met him, but what's being over the other side of the got to do with anything?
He can just as easily access the news about the club as we can! Unless of course you are inside all the board meetings (please don't become even more like MG and say you are)

77, i also wnat to make this clear. the reason i called you a cock is not because you disagreed with me but because i'm not stupid and i know you're just being controversial for the sake of being controversial!
Take for example your malky is a yes man post (which was pathetic). taffy answered you then you came back with something like "all employees have to say yes to their employers"

cmon mate we're not 12 years old

Give over mate! Everyone knew what you were implying by calling malky a yes man. and now you're trying to say everyones a yes man.

"A job entails doing what your employer tells you!"

Well whoopy f*cking doo for the eye-opening revelation

The point here is. The employer has offered the employee a longer term contract.

In ANY walk of life, that means negotiation you donut. Because it OBVIOUSLY means
that they feel the employee is doing a good job.

What you are trying to suggest is preposterous.

That Malky Mackay has only been offered bettr terms because he is a yes man?

.... and BECAUSE he is a yes man.... he said yes.

He's a sought after football manager with an agent you wetwipe. The second his
agent put word out that Malky was up for grabs three quarters of the Clubs in
