Re: "WHERE ARE THE LOAN PLAYERS ?"

Not being funny but there's no news here at all.
I think we were led to believe there would be news on a new loan signing.
Anyway it's good to know the Maylasians are questioning MM & hopefully we may have someone in before the WHU game.

You knew that the Malaysians were pressurising Malky and his staff to spend their money! :?

This is merely supposition.

And you know this for a fact? :?

Yes, you do. Malky has done several interviews outlining his recruitment policy.

And what about the Malaysians pushing for more signings?

Because many people feel that they are not backing Malky 100%.

i still didnt know that tan and co. were on his backs about transfers, most people on here speculated that the money was never there and was some kind of smokescreen etc..

I don't think anyone claimed you would be told of new signing but you have grasped the news in your last line.

I have no idea why anyone would think that. They are clearly backing him as illustrated by the bids we put in for Sordell and Noone.

So are you using supposition, or are you saying that Carl is? :?

Re: "WHERE ARE THE LOAN PLAYERS ?"

The enthusiasm and commitment which VT and TG have shown since their initial involvement has to be applauded.

If we dont make it this season, the owners will really be going again in the summer, and I think there could be some strong additions for the next campaign.

With regards to the Noone bid, £1m upfront appears alot so on price alone (I dont know much about the player)I'm glad the deal fell through.

its either one or the other,It would be the same as saying MM has nothing to spend and the owners are making this up to keep the peace, who knows i do not get it if MM had a open bank then why has hardly anybody come in.
carl only posts what SB tells him anyway :ayatollah:

Re: "WHERE ARE THE LOAN PLAYERS ?"

Diolch for the update Carl but I have to say the absence if January signings /loan players does not augur well ! The hard fact is that this squad needs strengthening & actions speak louder than words ! Tonight B'ham, M' boro & the Hammers have all increased the pressure @ the top if the Championship & our slip in form of late highlights what many of us have understood for a considerable period of time ! Injury, fatigue, loss of form & suspension will all take a toll on our priority this season of joining the Peg Sellers ! The fact that we have failed to bring in fresh blood - permanently or on loan is worrying ! Its not rocket science that our current squad is to thin to sustain a challenge for promotion when the afore- mentioned factors kick in - I for one will be glad when Sunday is done & dusted do that we can commence chasing the 3/4 high quality loanees we need to give ourselves a real chance of building on the great season weve had so far - FEBRUARY excluded !

Nice bit of info but has left me more annoyed. So irritating to know the board want mAlky to spend. Arrrrrggggghhhhh!

Re: "WHERE ARE THE LOAN PLAYERS ?"

Interesting and it was my belief he was backed, tbh nothing else made sense.

I don't like the idea of them pressurising him into making loans though, the wrong loans could have a massively negative effect on the club.

Well thats the only option we got now to late for anything else :ayatollah:

Re: "WHERE ARE THE LOAN PLAYERS ?"

lets not panic, we don't want another Parkin do we, FFS he looked like he just come off Poncanna fields.

Three or four need to go in the summer, with eight or nine coming in. We have a nucleus of a good squad of varying experience . I think we will splash the cash for decent younger players and pick up frees on the more experienced side. Looks like we are already have a team on it.

Re: "WHERE ARE THE LOAN PLAYERS ?"

Tue Feb 21, 2012 10:31 pm

I really don't understand people who believe that spending transfer money on loan fees and wages, and then that player to go back to their parent club and it be good business sense?

Have a think, yes we bid up to £4.2m but why oh why would you try and spend that then on players that wouldn't be yours at the end of it??? That makes horrendous business sense?

I'd rather the club sign no loans and put that £4.2m into players in the summer.

there was no evidence to suggest it was or it wasnt. but from tonights info , im getting the picture that the malaysians put the money up, the targets were identified and the failure to sign players pretty much lies with the recruitment team, the agents and the parent club pulling the deal.

no it's not, option 2 would be to go with what we have got then use the remainder of this seasons budget in the summer in a buyers market to add to an already capable group of players.
This would minimise any gamble as the players brought in would be "ours" not players we are preparing for other teams

Totally agree with you. The problem is nowadays is that fans think the answer to everything is "spend more money". What the hell happened to coaching? Thankfully I reckon Malky can get us out of this little slump we are in, without having to go out and get loans in.
Obviously a few extra pairs of legs in the squad will help but we are a decent team as it is, and we'll start getting results again soon :ayatollah:

Don't wish to be picky here but loans are only mentioned in the first an last line. I have no doubt the Maylasians are backing us which has been proved
