I take it Hughes named all his senior strikers in his 25 though didn't he. I also think the chance of Bothroyd returning are less than 1% in the near future - because I still don't see him as a player Malky would want to take a risk on.

TBH I think the vast majority of footballers are arrogant to be honest.
I always remember a story told by a friend of a friend who works at the post office. Basically a post man knocked the door at Jays house for him to sign for something like a parcel or a letter. He asked Jay if he brought a shirt for him to sign would he for his lad who is a big fan. Jay said no problem im in a rush leave your mobile through the door and left. Anyway the post man thought no more of this and about a week past then all of a sudden a withheld number rings and it was Jay, apologising he hadn't called earlier and invited him and his son around for food. They did and jay had got him a City kit and had signed it for him.
Not sure why I told that story as it happened well over a year ago but still, nice gesture.

Spotted Bothroyd down the bay going to see a film on his own, was quite happy to stop chat and talk to the kids too, thought he was extremely polite! As was Bellamy last season - saw him same place and he had photos with everyone.

Stark contrast between the two, one give it all one didn't.

My point was, that these two could be portrayed as egos or bad boys on the field or through the football limelight, but really in person they aren't so bad, infact, quite the opposite. Although we are drifting slightly off topic here.

Class player in this division. Scored some goals. I remember Sheffield Wednesday at home 2009/2010 season and he was just the best player by far. After our play off defeat I was really happy he stuck with us and he completley blew this league way in first 3/4 months. The 'Ego' thing gets to me. He was always a genuine nice bloke in person after games and always had time for a chat. But on the pitch with the England cap he picked up he had a attitude. To be fair we were utter s**t when he was injured and he came back Watford game and was quality and the attacking force as back when we hit 3 in the first half!

spot on!

If Jay was our striker, we would have won today. Leicester are an average team - and we should be killing teams like this off if we are to be automatic promotion contenders.... Christ, the scorer who got two goals against us today, Gallagher, hasn't scored since October! - I feel we will drift off the top two now to be honest, unless we act fast and get a striker with skills, pace and eye for goal like Jay did! Other wise we will definitely be fighting for a play off place at best.
I will stay positive though, enjoy Wembley (get it out of the way) - then concentrate on trying to haul a lot of points from the remaining league games!

Jay was always great with anybody who wanted an autograph, and would hang around until every one was signed and everybody who wanted a picture had taken it. In contrast, Shane Williams ..........
