Trouble is Vellios does not work his balls off, it is the reason he has been dropped to the reserves - although he did score a hatrick in last reserves against Blackburn. Basically : Against Stoke City this season, Apostolos Vellios started the game but his display was in stark contrast to the performance of Jonathan Walters for the visitors.
I’ve said many times in this column that Vellios can be a real player but he needs to show the level of work rate Walters shows every week and the work rate Stracqualursi did in midweek.
Everton fans will always appreciate that.

For what it's worth, i have also heard from a reliable Everton source that City have enquired about Vellios - but Leicester (surpise surprise) are also interested in taking him on loan...
