There is is much to much of Ali trying to change the way our fans want to sing.

Any opinions ?

I applaud him on copying Ajax fans with Bob Marley.

But let our fans also sing.

i agree

trouble is our fans barely create an atmosphere during league games these days anyway

its embarrassing really when the away fans are taking the piss

Scott, It is hurting to see us being embarrassed by a few hundred away fans.

Blackpool made no noise until they scored tho.

Atmosphere was dead all game but same stadium as the palace game.

I am very sorry to hear that away fans 'taking the piss' seems to cut into your heart so very, very deeply.

After all, this apparent failure of atmosphere has quite clearly caused us to occupy such a lowly league position....

I got to be honest I didn't even hear goal music yesterday, was I the only person?

I was not aware of it until I read it on here.

What song was played?

Its all sounds a bit like the Cardiff Blues when they score a try, not sure if they still do it at the CCS, but when they were down the AP they used to play some ELO stuff, blasting out after they scored [so somebody told me ;) ].
Leave it for the rugby, i say!

I didn't notice the song after the goal either, I was wrapped up in my own goal celebration to notice but that's just me :D ;)

Why does Ali get moaned at on here for trying something new? We all make mistakes don't we?

Ali is a Cardiff fan through and through and some of comments about him in recent months have stupid

Ali could quite easily sound like the Liverpool announcer so boring...but he loves the club just like us all :ayatollah:

As for the goal music Im not a fan of the song he played but every time I watch norwich on the tele, they always have a good song when they score, which normally gets me singing  :ayatollah:

P.S If anyone knows that norwich song please post it

Please never again.

It's one of the only times we actually make a lot of noise these days all round the stadium and then get drowned out by music!

I was embrassed watching football league show last night as you could hear it on there, I can take losing but can't take goal music please let it be a one off.

Re: " ALI WAS WRONG TODAY "

Ali is a top bloke and has done a good job. His ego (I mean this with all due respect) has got a bit inflated and he seems to get a bit over the top with the length of his announcements, the sound of his own voice and the stupid music when we score. It is not american football it is Cardiff City.

He plays some good tunes at times but he should ditch the make some noise shit. It is really embarrassing. Someone else needs a go before he gets as bad as the bloke at Arsenal. Cringe cringe cringe.

After we score, it's brilliant to hear the whole stadium sing Bluebirds, Bluebirds. Ali ruined it imo.

I think he's been on the slid for a couple of years. But yesterday was a fukcin dissaster

Re: " ALI WAS WRONG TODAY "

Sun Feb 05, 2012 12:11 pm

It's all ways the "Bluebirds! Bluebirds" Chant after a goal, 1st time I couldn't hear it yesterday. I agree Annis it's all to much, I can't stand the Childish "I'll be there" song when we walk out add to that the make some noise, Not good.

Re: " ALI WAS WRONG TODAY "

Sun Feb 05, 2012 12:27 pm

I agree that some of the music is totally inappropriate

On the flip side, he plays "Men of Harlech" to late as we tend to get stopped before we can chant "City" etc with his introduction of the teams coming on the pitch

He wants us to "make some noise" but actually he prevents it sometimes

I like Ali think he does a good and thankless job.
We were all told the club were going to try new things to improve things and try and get an atmosphere.
Some people didnt like it. Cant say its going to effect my life! The song is shit and boring thats about it!!
If it had been madness one step beyond and 20,000 people had been on there feet bouncing, would people think different?

I think 'I'll Be There' is a good tune and is relevant to the club unlike the Pendulum stuff we used to come out to about 2 seasons ago!

it doesnt matter what the song is. Goal music is shite and small time. I never want to hear it again. I will seriously consider not renewing my season ticket if i hear that shit again.

If it had been Nathan it would of been "One step to fooking far"  But in defence of Ali he might of been told to do it :o .
But if the Club want to do something about the atmosphere then change the Canton and Grange over !! Simples and get Nash and his Hitlers off our backs. Let us be supporters again. Give the grange and the Ninian to those that want to stand and sing. To those that want to sit and be happy clappers there is the Canton and Grandstand. Again Simples !! Get rid of Nash and give the job to the Nukes :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

Re: " ALI WAS WRONG TODAY "

Sun Feb 05, 2012 2:48 pm

Everybody around me stopped celebrating and looked around at each other. Only word that comes to mind - PATHETIC

The drum in the Canton is helping to keep chants going, as was the case yesterday with 10 minutes plus of "barmy army'. That is encouragement for the team.

Fans don't need any encouragement to celebrate a goal. We are not Americans or sad QPR fans who need to be force fed our reactions.

Re: " ALI WAS WRONG TODAY "

Sun Feb 05, 2012 3:05 pm

I like Ali as an announcer and he does a great job mostly but this is WRONG WRONG WRONG.

I can't believe how strongly I feel about this but the celebration of a goal is one of the great moments in life and the goal music spoiled it for me yesterday.

I always think goal music is for small tinpot clubs - it's for smaller clubs with fans not passionate and noisy enough to celebrate properly. I always mock teams that have goal music because it sounds just terrible.

PLEASE ALI - DON'T DO IT AGAIN

Re: " ALI WAS WRONG TODAY "

Yesterdays atmosphere was flatter than Keira Knightley's tits for the vast majority of the game. Got to be honest I didn't hear the goal music or certainly didn't notice it, too busy celebrating I guess.

The drum I find annoying but if it helps create an atmosphere in the Canton then I am all for it, people around me were trying to get songs going but everyone was out of sync with each other, cringeworthy at times.
