Carl, I don't know how reliable your source is but he seems pretty legit the majority of the time and even if information that is passed doesn't turn out to happen, it has often been something the club have been involved in. I am not naive and know that football is a fast game and things change all the time. Just because your source tells you something one minute and then it's not true the next doesn't mean it wasn't true in the first place.

I enjoy the updates because I find them a good read. I don't take things seriously until the deal is done and the player is signed but I do love the excitement I get from reading the updates about what is possible.

Keep it up mate and know that the majority enjoy the updates. Someone once said that if you are disliked then you are doing something right!

What about the Matt Phillips bid that the WME and Echo were reporting , did that ever get off the ground or was it just rumour control amongst the journos and agents ?

We live in an age where a conversation overheard or a comment posted can suddenly be all over the place via message boards, sms,twitter, facebook,etc.

Surely we have had our fingers burned enough times to realise that until the player is shown on the official site holding a shirt up the player hasn't signed.!!

A lot can happen between City making a bid and the player signing so people have got to understand that even when posters like Carl post a bid being made , it is far from complete and a lot can change or go wrong !

Carl. your posts certainly cause great speculation and interest which are 'real time' compared to the 'excitement' caused by the echo articles over the last 40 years that I have been folowing the City.

The problem that I have (which I think is shared by many City fans) is the self importance that you assume whilst making these posts.

Just be one of the fans and post your opinion rather than trying to become the semi official source and you will get a lot less stick for your predictions that most often do not come true

Hopefully we will soon sign the striker and winger needed to get us promoted and you will be the first to here of it together with the rest of us!

Unfair and I'm not sure that's true at all. Carl knows exactly his place... he hears some information and passes it on. People can either like it or lump it. Carl knows he's never gonna win any awards for journalism or for being an information agent... he's just a normal fan with some good connections and passes on information - which we all read with interest. I'm sure if Carl never found out anymore information from the club and had nothing to pass then he wouldn't lose any sleep over it. He could certainly do without the snide comments from some posters.

I have a simple rule - if you don't like it don't read it.

In my case, I'm an exiled bluebird 4000 miles away so I love Carls updates... although most of the time they arrive around 9 or 10 your time which is 12 or 1 my time!

Aside from signing the keeper on a perm deal we signed one player, Kadeem Harris and Carl was nowhere near it. FACT.

I dont know why people treat Carls updates as gospel, by the same token I donr know why they are getting the
hump with him cos of the clubs lack of activity. its not like he controls the purse strings.

No offence but im sure Malky has got far more important people to
deal with on transfer activity than carl and he strikes me as someone who wouldnt tolerate snitches in the camp who leak things they shouldnt.
