A forum for all things Cardiff City

Gutted we never got anyone in.
But am I f**k going to slag off Malky or the Club.
He has his own way of trying to sign players, so far its worked pretty well
seeing as we are THIRD.
And above him.. money was made available.
We drew away to Southampton last night lads, against a team that has
spent a bundle.
I just cant help feeling half the moaning fuckers who support Cardiff City these
days are like spoilt babies who cannot wait to spit the dummy out when they dont
get things their way.
If you think your manager is a liar lads, if you think your owners are liars
lads.... then buy the Club out yourselves or go support someone you can trust eh

Where are these figures of 4.5million to spend coming from.
None of the bids have been acknowledged by the club and probably won't be. Also the Sordell bid was supposedly made 30 minutes before kick off (not deadline) at this time we had given up on Noone so the 3 million could include the Noone money.
If you want to hazard a guess it should be 3million, either half for Noone and half for Mackie or all of it on Sordell with a potential for a loan.

Bullshit! 4.5 million to spend on players, why wasn't it spent on Noone and Mackie then. There's a bit of spin going on hear, and why do we leave it to the last minute to bid 3,5 million for Sordell.

Very strange, just like we missed out on Craig Bellamy with a last ditch effort to sign him. What will it be next? A last ditch effort to sign Lionel Messi? What a joke.

Sordell was on his way to us for his medical when bolton gazumped us last minute, Malky said he wont pay over the odds for players, which makes a refreshing change considering some of the shit we've had to put up with over the years.....but then most of you complaining won't remember that so go back to Football manager and carry on spending pretend money .

Some posters would have paid any price for Craig Noone without knowing anything about him. Heard of him before have we?
24 years of age.
16 league games at Championship level
10 games for Brighton in League 1, when they were promoted last season. Used mainly as a substitute.
16 games for Plymouth before that.
Bought by Brighton for a fee of £300 thousand part of the way through last season.
Brighton reputedly wanted £1 million+ for him.
Would be that good business for us or Brighton!
As Craig just eluded to, some posters or here need to grow up and join the real world.
I, as many on this Board, have seen City on the brink of folding. So if you want to see the Club back in that position again carry on with your deluded thoughts or go and support Manchester City or Chelsea.

It seems pretty obvious to me, the money we, apparently, bid for Sordell only became available once we gave up on Noone. I agree with you, we didn't have £4.5 million to spend, but decided to lump all we did have on one player when it became obvious that we were not going to get the others we had been chasing.

thats not strictly true because at one stage yesterday both offers were on the table with a view to the club getting both players in.
Another issue people should take into consideration that if for example you buy a player for 3million and on a 3 year contract nine times out of ten that 3 million would be paid in three seperate 1 million instalments over the 3 years.
there would still be a signing on fee and the vulture's ( sorry agent) fee to pay up front as well.
i am quite happy that both the malaysians and malky did their best yesterday to bring both players in but now we have to move on to the loan window and try to strengthen from there.
