The PL club has to be QPR as when Cisse signs they are going to have 40 registered first team players and only 25 can be registered to play PL matches.

If the forward is going to come from QPR then Mackie or Smith please as neither are cup tied for the Carling Cup.

Malkay looked well pissed off when he was asked about Noone at todays press conference so it may well be that Brighton are playing games here, if it is poker I wouldn't want to play Poyet he didn't bat an eyelid denying no improved offer had been submitted by Cardiff. He did however say that in signing Sam Vokes Brighton will have to alter their system to accomodate him and they needed to do that to help Craig Michael Smith. Does any change of system involve losing a wide player.

Brighton have already batted away offers for Noone and Hoskins but if they are looking to change systems do they need both. Anyway all these games are pissing me off we have offered good money for a player who lets face it has played less than 20 games at Championship level. Time to move on if you ask me and move for the Scottish lad who has a good reputation

French Forward Linked

REPORTS today have linked QPR with a late move for Montpellier forward Olivier Giroud.

The 25-year-old front-man has been linked with a move to the Premier League for some time, and it could be that QPR snare the coveted forward.

The striker has made two international appearances for Les Bleus while also scoring 26 goals in 56 appearances for Montpellier.

Could this be the striker QPR are after, leaving Mackie to sighn for us ... maybe!

Malkay didn't sound confident in press confidence, was asked does he expect much movement in tomorrow and he said no.but there's always the loan market.

Surely it's cisse flying in for a medical at QPR!! As long as they sign someone so we can take one of their fringe players I'll be over the moon!!

As one of the irons in the fire I can tell you that Johnny Russell of Dundee Utd is one of those and City could make the move to get him if the Noone deal goes pear shaped. Dundee Utd are apparently seeking £1.5million for Russell.

As for the striker I am told that a deal with a Premier League club hinges on whether or not that particular Premier League side are able to bring in a striker themselves before releasing one to us.

Rob Earnshaw is travelling with the squad to Southampton but if City are successful in bringing in another striker then Earnie will be allowed to leave whether on loan or a permanent transfer but will only happen if we secure the services of another striker.

Just want to add as well that Scannell and Vaz Te are not targets of Malky, I am told.

Do you know the name of the mystery prem striker? is it Mackie?. someone put out a post earlier that reads just like yours only the poster identified the player as mackie.

Think everyone's up to speed with the Russell situation.

Thanks for the info anyway :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

'Useless' is way over the top - he has hardly featured due to the form of Miller ( and his game time to goals ratio is pretty good ).

Carl, given that Harris is still young, do you know if he's seen more as one for the future, or if Malky intends to play him from the off?

Both Mackie and Smith love it at QPR and want to stay, however both need to be playing regularly and will consider moving. We are in prime position for at least one of these players. I strongly believe that we will eventually get Smith, could even be tomorrow as QPR have players lined up ready to sign. :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

Not quite sure what to make of this. At first it reads as if we have not had a bid for Noone accepted, but the final bit sounds as if we are talking to his agent. For that to happen though, Brighton would have to have accepted an offer from us wouldn't they? Do you mean that Noone's agent is using our interest to try and get a better deal for his client from Brighton?

Paul

thats exactly what is happening in my opinion and happens in all transfers. The agents are not only looking at what is best for the player but whats the best deal for themselves and what cut they can get out of it.
The players being touted at qpr are on large wages so thats going to be a difficult one for us to overcome and i would suspect we would be more interested in bringing them on loan in a weeks time as at least qpr will pick up some of their hefty wages

So if QPR land a striker then I wonder if we will see Bothroyd back in the blue shirt soon ?

Re: THE LATEST ON TRANSFERS

Tue Jan 31, 2012 7:59 am

Does anyone think like men that given what Malky said yesterday, that he wouldn't be waiting on other clubs to see if they sign anyone or not?? Yes it's deadline day but it's also a match day! For me, Malky would never be ablento hang on like that because he's going to busy prepping the team etc

Yeah, but not a cardiff shirt, more likely a wigan shirt if they are selling Hugo Rodagella
