Answer me one simple question...

Do you accept that the Gower is part of the city and county of Swansea?

Yes or no?

It is part of the County (old West Glam) but is not in the city you thicko....

So it's a yes?

I love the way you keep harping on about the old West Glamorgan. It's as if you can't bring yourself to use the words Swansea and Gower in the same sentence.

Just to give you a comparison..
It's like me suggesting that somewhere like whitchurch is not in Cardiff. Because it's not in the city centre, does that mean it's not part of the city and county of Cardiff? Of course it doesn't. As long as it falls within the city and county of Cardiff boundaries that would make it part of the city and county of Cardiff. Same applies for all the towns and villages the Gower. They might not be in the centre of Swansea, but they are still very much a part of the city and county of Swansea. It's not rocket science!

Whitchurch is a suburb of Cardiff and like Ely, Radyr, Grangetown etc is part of Cardiff like Townhill, Killay and Sketty are part of swansea. To say the Gower is in Swansea is like saying Sully or Penarth are in Cardiff. Face facts tragic greenflash you have are not the sharpest tool in the box. Next you'll be saying Leon Britton is the best player in Europe.

According to wiki, it is part of Swansea:

Jesus wept.

You cannot get to grip with the concept that the Gower is part of the city and county of Swansea can you? Even in the face of all the evidence I've provided you're still trying to convince yourself otherwise. You don't give up easily Garethwilts, I'll give you that much. Even if you do make yourself look retarded in the process.

How many times do I have to tell you... Nobody has ever suggested that Penarth is in Cardiff. It's not. For about the hundreth time... It's in the vale of Glamorgan! (never heared of Sully, so I wouldn't like to comment)

Seeing as you can't, or more likely, won't accept that the Gower is part of the city and county of Swansea, Let us try a slightly different approach..

The Gower is just a name for the peninsula of land on the west of Swansea yes? Penclawdd is a village situated in the north of that peninsula. Do you accept that Penclawdd is part of the city and county of Swansea? A yes or no answer please. No Avoiding the question with rhetoric such as "it's in the county formally known as West Glamorgan, but it's not in the city of Swansea". It's a perfectly reasonable question, which only requires a yes or no answer...

Garethwilts.... do you accept that Penclawdd is a village in the city and county of Swansea?

YES OR NO?

Hello? You there Gareth? The silence is deafening. You must still be deliberating the answer. It really shouldn't take you this long to come to a conclusion. The answer is staring you straight in the face. Perhaps this will help...

Penclawdd (Welsh: Pen-clawdd) is a village which is situated in the north of the Gower Peninsula in Swansea, Wales

YES or NO Gareth, I'm waiting...

Don't trust wikipedia Gareth? No problem, Take a look at this. Taken from the official city and county of Swansea website...

http://www.swansea.gov.uk/index.cfm?articleid=139

Physical Description

The new City and County covers an area of 378 square kilometres (146 square miles), about 2% of the area of Wales.

Extending from Rhossili Down at the western edge of the Gower Peninsula to Kilvey Hill, Crymlyn Bog and the slopes of the Drummau Mountain on the eastern border with Neath Port Talbot; and from Mumbles Head and the sweep of Swansea Bay in the south to the 1200 ft. ridge of Mynydd y Gwair overlooking the Amman Valley in the north, the new City and County covers an area of 378 square kilometres (146 square miles), about 2% of the area of Wales.

That doesn't clinch it for you? What about this..

The City and County can be broadly divided into 4 physical areas. In the north, the Lliw Uplands present an open moorland feature; the Gower Peninsula in the west, a rural landscape with contrasting coasts and a collection of small villages; the urban and suburban centre stretching from Swansea to Gorseinon and Pontarddulais; and the coastal strip around Swansea Bay, no more than 2 miles in width.

I'll ask you again...

Do you accept that the Gower is part of the city and county of Swansea? Remember, no rhetoric...

YES OR NO?

Competing with the best in the land. The biggest prize there is.

Drawing at Anfield, winning at Villa, beating Arsenal and ready to welcome Chelsea on Tuesday.

It's great up here, you should try and join us

Hopefully we will by the end of the season. Although I expect we'll take your place up there :D

On a serious note though I would personally (and I know I'm in the minority here) take a win over Liverpool to win the Cup than promotion this season.

Whatever league you are in, you will always be second best to your capital Cardiff and you know it. Things can not get any better for you so one day you will return to the lower leagues pretty much where you belong averaging less than 10k in the council stadium. By then Brendon will be at a big club same for the likes of Dyer, Sinclair but you will still have Tatey so don't panic. Some of you spend so much time on here its worrying trying to convince us you are the Barcalona of the league while everyone else seems to laugh. As the saying goes down here I would rather be a black than a Swansea f*cking jack. :ayatollah:

Well magicdaps thanks for the modern history lesson I have lived outside wales for the last 20 years due to military comitments but of course what you have done is proved to everybody that you do not watch your team much. 16:59 I believe 4 minutes after your game finished you are on our forum. Wales No 1 another City obsesed Jack 17:04 9 minutes after being humiliated by the worst club in your league who played 6 second team players ( and before you start saying yes but we played a reserve team I have looked and am aware that yours was mostly a second team as well 7 I believe). So were you both at the match? Good game was It?

Ever seen a live match either of you? :!:

I have missed no more than 2 or 3 games in the the 6yrs we've been playing at fortress liberty. Didn't miss too many at the vetch either. I will openly admit that I don't make as many away games as I used to. One of the down sides of having young children. Would you care to explain how you've come to the conclusion that I don't watch my team much? I don't wish to be disrespectful to a member of our armed forces. If you are genuinely serving our country, then you have my utmost respect, but that doesn't excuse you from making unfounded and spurious allegations. :(

You jacks sound desperate here, it's like your frantically trying to hold on to something that isn't yours or won't be for long (bit like your league status eh?). It's part of the county but not part of the city so just get over it. Funny how gower folks, and I know plenty, don't associate themselves with Swansea? I wonder why? Funnily enough they don't in the kings head or the brittania inn either. Face it, your city is a dump. End of. :ayatollah:

I'm from the Gower. I lived there for the best part of 30yrs. Always thought of myself as a jack.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again.. there's no point in trying to argue that the Gower is part of the county of Swansea, but not part of the city of Swansea. The entire Gower peninsula falls within the boundaries of the CITY AND COUNTY OF SWANSEA. There is no distinction made between where the city boundaries end and the county boundaries start, It all comes under the CITY AND COUNTY OF SWANSEA.

I grew up with Martin the head chef, and part owner of the Brittania inn. He's a Penclawdd boy same as me, along with his brothers Chris and Huw. All jacks through and through. Ask him next time you're there. You don't know what you're talking about.
