Celebrating at Wembley? Perhaps not a play-off final win, but definitely an FA Cup semi-final win!

Hence the statement of play off final see. And by the way, I think winning a play off final in the worlds richest game is preferable to winning a semi final before losing a final

Re: Hymns and Arias anyone?

Im all for it. People easily forget that under Terry Yorath we used to sing this at Welsh football home matches in the 90's at the Millenium nobody minded then :?

Re: Hymns and Arias anyone?

Fri Jan 20, 2012 12:11 am

i hate the jacks and also hate f*cking rugby, so i never want to hear that f*cking song, EVER!!!

Re: Hymns and Arias anyone?

It a song were all can join in,and it lifts the players, who gives i f**k if its rugby.football of tidly winks ffs the truth is it gets every one on ther feet and produces a atmosphere.allso gets every one singing other songs.
Every club that comes to the lib gazes in orr when we sing.as the whole stadium sings it and the noise is outstanding.is that what its all about? You know the 12th man and lifting your team.
Anyway you should be doing all you can as since you moved your atmosphere is shit.and to slag us of for singing any song is pathetic to be honest as we are making a noise and every club comment on the vocal support from our fans home and away...you are showing your bitterness with the remarks here,

Re: Hymns and Arias anyone?

Imagine if we did start singing it swansealad -we,d get a load of shit for copying.

We've got loads of songs and hopefully the CCS is coming around a bit now with atmosphere.
Personally -in football I think its a jack song although when wrexham sung it I sort of understand ur point. Its a welsh song which differs us from english teams.

We should be the 12th man but I think we have to get something original or unique to CCFC.
Far too many clubs singing the same 4 songs.

We need a song for us.....

Madness - chorus to It Must be Love or
Tears for fears
"SHOUT, SHOUT, Let it all out,
We are the fans they all Talk about
Come on, we're City we're Blue, Come on"

It's a RUGBY son IMHO and that's why the Jacks sing it (bandwagon-jumping rugbyites!!) :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

i was at both cardiff-swansea games last season and your fans were shit. did ipswich comment on your vocal support last season when you took a massive 70 fans there?

Re: Hymns and Arias anyone?

Fri Jan 20, 2012 7:44 am

We also used to sing Cwm Rhondda (Bread of Heaven)...and before anyone says this is a rugby song ITS NOT!

Its a song about our industrial heritage (wrapped up in a religious hymn).

This was always sung by us going into the early 90's and should be ressurected IMO

Re: Hymns and Arias anyone?

Fri Jan 20, 2012 8:45 am

Its a crap song, its an egg chasing song so imo NO it sounds NAF .

And please dont take the pis out of our away support when u take half of a 4k ticket allocation for a semi 2hours away on a staight run

When Swansea sing it it sounds fantastic lets be honest though

sorry mate, makes me cringe when i here it at a football match! sounds a bit puffish! ;)

Lets be honest though its because it is Swansea isn't it. When Wrexham were singing it yesterday no body made any comments about it

http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=pl ... SHP_ro-l5U Watch this. I start of the Men of Harlech half way through the video :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

sounds better with the words than the la la la's.didnt notice the famous jacket though, might pop to peacocks and pick one up before they shut down :o as for hyms and arias i'll sing it when the rugby start singing "Who the f*cking hell are you"

That was a great effort at singing MOH and didn't it sound awesome? Certainly the young blond lady by the door thought so

I would love to see the day we finally throw off our inhabitations and sing MOH properly at CCS and elsewhere.

Who needs Hymns and Arias when we have a brilliant song like that? Also I would like us to use ‘Can’t take my eyes off of you’ a bit more.

His point was Swansea fans were shit at both games against Cardiff last season, no matter what you might think

But we are not the ones trying to fins a way to gain an atmosphere,.off course ther are games that are a bit quiet.but with us they are far and few between, you on the other hand are every game,
As for men off harlect.great song and starting to gain more pepole singing the words.but allso hate the na nana nanana..as its not a hard song to learn.

Re: Hymns and Arias anyone?

Fri Jan 20, 2012 12:27 pm

No No No....This makes me cringe everytime I hear it, not because they are singing Hymns and Arias. They only sing the chorus. At Welsh rugby games, there is always other verses that refer to rugby. Surely if you are going to sing this at football games, then you would need to create lyrics that would apply to football and the team?

Opinions?

If you'd ever attempt to travel away, you'd realise that it would take closer to 3hrs or more to get to selhurst park on a tuesday night, getting round the m5 and through south london at that time is a ball ache! and with the game being on Sky and many suffering the financial squeeze at the mo, we did well with our numbers travelling there and we definately weren't quiet!!! sell out or or no sell out (at selhurst) we made just as much noise :ayatollah:

but as i said if you were a proper supporter you'd travel away, but then again, small town club, small town fans!!

our fans were shit at the ccs but awesome down your council house. dont comment on us taking 2,800 to palace when you took about 1,300 to forest for a semi-final last season. i watched your game v arsenal on the box, the atmosphere sounded ok, and thats it. i'm sure we'll make double your noise v palace tuesday night.

Made a bit of an idiot of yourself here Swansealad....once again.

A real football fan would know it takes a lot longer to get to Selhurst Park than 2 hours. Have you ever travelled away to a game?

swansealad always make an idiot of himself, thats probably why they don't welcome him on planetswans. nice boy, dull as f**k.
