Will the drum be out on tuesday?
Wed Jan 18, 2012 10:55 pm
the barry horns were good when i saw them at the wales v australia game but i think it would be a bit too much for the city games.. the drum on the otherhand is great

The drum is great, it improves the atmosphere a lot as it gets people singing.
But please, NO BRASS BAND. It would end up just being the band playing with no one singing along, it would feel like watching England home games at Wembley.
I would actually feel embarrassed if we had a brass band playing.

Iv said before and I say ill say it again, not a fan of the drum and certainly not a fan of a brass band!

Vince has got to be on a windup, if not then he should stick to running the supporters trips, and not tell me and the majority of fans what we want. Poll my arse never heard about that one

many other teams across the country use a drum to generate atmosphere and granted some are shit, such as wigan (however they rarely have a decent gate up there these days), but wycombe and bolton manage to generate a good atmosphere from the beating of the drum.
People who sit in areas where singing is minimal will generally join in with clapping to a tune, such as barmy army! and this all contibutes when you think about it, with the ninian and canton doing the 'singing' everything can come together to drown out away support.
It showed as palace away last week, they had their 'singers' and the stand oposite us were clapping to the beat and made a great atmosphere from both sides.
Get involved, dont knock it mate support it!

If so, could an extra microsphone be pointed downwards towards the fans to amplify their singing and chants. This will encourage fans around the ground to join in as they will hear whats being sung and will create a good atmosphere.
Why don't you just have a mic in the liberty and a speaker in the ccs and you can borrow some of our atmosphere.. if not i have a triangle you can have, every little helps !!

All for the drum but a microphone? No way, how embarrassing would it be to have to have a microphone because we can't generate enough noise on our own?

Good idea, though in very small stadiums the atmosphere is always good.
Have you been to Hartlepool?

Well done vince.
We definately need something to rouse the atmosphere and hopefully we'll one day get to a point where the drum is no longer needed, but until that day....... You are doing a great job mate.
