Man Utd at home in the 70's.
Swansea away in the 80's.
Bristol C away in the 80's.
Hereford away in the Welsh Cup semi-final.

hate to split hairs with you annis mate but jackland 91 has got to be on that list
it was the day when we cemented forever that ccfc are wales number 1
i know we had taken the place by storm with huge numbers in 70s and 80s but the jacks had got cocky prior to 91 with a few victories guild hall/swimaway (hats off to the west glamorgan blues for taking it to the jack on their own patch) and the venum that some of the lads went about their work that day showed we had a point to prove

For pure carnage wantant destruction value I would throw in Swindon away in the FA cup in the nineties, hundreds of Cardiff rioted after the game smashing everything bar the kitchen sink back to the station. As for aggro seen a lot but a scene that resembled bladerunner was when Celtic came down in late nineties I think and played Cwmbran town. Cardiff were there and we had maybe 300 but they kept on charging down Westgate Street and it was like Zulu only the Zulus had green and white stripes on :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

Stoke'''''''''''' Compared to Villa-Millwall-Leeds in the mid 70's. The one thing that made me laugh was how the Leeds fans cried like babies during and after our Fa Cup victory at the Ninian when I think of what We CCFC Supporters had when We played Them in 74 at Elland Rd. I was on the first special Train (Barry Train) We called it the Barry train because it picked up the whole of the Vale that day although the special had already picked up from Portalbut, Bridgend' So there was a tidy and handy mob on board with the Llantwit guy's Dyllan Dai Pilchar and Co, By the time the train stopped at Cogan of the what seemed like a million carriages it was hardly worth stopping at the then called Cardiff General as we had no seats available anyway. We had a train full of popper soldiers Dezie Oconner , Donald(RIP), Dickie Donut, Mickey (Bronson) Taylor, and a young Niel Asson that even back then was a proper Trooper. We arrived at Leeds and with in five minutes of the train stopping We were met by a torade of bricks missiles and coppers encouraging the Leeds Fans to get stuck in, Any Cardiff Fan standing their own got clobbered by the law or arrested, We got feking hammered from all angles, The last thing I could remember befor I woke up in the back of an ambo was getting a good kicking and watching a copper on Horse back charging into a Cardiff Lad then deliberately trampling the Lad who lost a finger when the horse hoofed His hand. Later the Hospital Staff tried to prevent me leaving but I was determined to reach Elland Rd, When I eventually got to the ground the coppers were reluctant to let me into the ground, I blagged them my Father was inside so they let me in, but the only way for me to reach where the Cardiff Fans were situated was having to walk past the Leeds supporters via the pitch( between behind the goal and the terrace) that was split with Cardiff. I had on a cream top and beige trousers when I set out that morning, But when I walked past the Leeds fans with 25mins alreadfy played I was wharing maroon from top to bottom, I took my applause from the Leeds as I walked by in front of Them looking half dead, and not giving a fook cocky 14yr befor taking My rapturous from the Cardiff. I never saw so many bandages/cuts and bruises at a match since, We still had to get back to the station and Cardiff yet, On the way back to the station the coppers yet again encouraged the Leeds to get stuck in, I found myself surrounded by Leeds all the way to the station, Not one of them put a hand on Me but I was covered in flob and made well and tuely aware that I was a Welsh Wog. We (Cardiff Fans) took it on the chin and even managed to laugh about it coming back, But We didnt cry to the press/media etc like the Leeds fans along with Mr O'Leary did when they came to Cardiff!!!! :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

Millwall home was massive Polo, but the police never persued it and there were no raids etc, just 6 arrests on the day and lets be honest thats nothing, when you think about it anything up to 1,000 fans were involved that day.

Agree with the post about our trip to Leeds mid seventies. The biggest fight ever though was when we were home to Leeds in the fa cup 1972, before kick off they charged at the grange end and a full on toe to toe lasted at least fifteen minutes with hundreds involved and the police all but gave up on any chance of stopping it, there was major disorder before and after the game on the streets too. Also Villa and Birmingham at home 69/70 were two of the most violent games involving Cardiff..

i can remember the leeds coppers on horses splitting us into little groups all the way back to the station so that the leeds fans could attack us.
the only payback we had was when we were all back at the station we were able to get at the leeds fans coming to catch their trains.
a horrible day but as you say 5 miles outside of leeds station you could laugh at the experience.

I'd love to read a post 80's / casuals book about all the bother. The stories of the 70s and before.
That read about the Man U match at home was eye opening, sure there are loads more. All the different trends etc.
Again I'm not out to glorify but to understand the past from those who were there.

I took a battering at Exeter on their end, that wasn't nice at all. Also took some hefty blows and put on my arse twice at Sheff U 2003 but the 13 of us didn't take a backward step against their equivalent of The Ninian Pub, few of theirs were k.o. taking bottles of bud to the head lol

Best for me has to be Swansea 91' if police intel was as good then as it is now then the prisons would have been full.

Wolves away gave me a lot of pleasure; the cheeky feckers had what they deserved and more that day

I think the end of it all, is this crap which happenend with chelsea. boys doing 18 months for shouting and swearing. makes u laugh really, that some peodos get away with less. i think for once boys they finally have quelled the city   but my top 3 are : millwall 99, spurs away in 2001 i think???? and wrexham in late 90s, when the fuckers nicked my shoes and we had a right old tear up on the bridge by the station.

Re: Most significant Trouble?

In the 1970s, If there were no away fans to fight with then the Cardiff fans would fight amongst themselves.

That's fecking hardcore

Re: Most significant Trouble?

Read loads of previous subjects on here for past couple of years but never set up account as always busy with the 3 kids, anyway wife is watching dancing on ice so I thought I would finally respond to something before she sticks on wild at heart and I disappear to the attic to play battlefield 3 on xbox live.

Anyway back to the question... Hereford was the worst for me I think, away on possibly a Sunday. I think about 24 of us traveled up in a transit van from Ely, we had a bucket to piss in which was soon full. We went in the pub opposite the welsh club just down from Edgar street. I must have been 17-18 at the time and I remember spraying Cardiff city in the toilets and on a few signs, totally bladdered, most of the lads we went with were mid 20's to early 30's so us as youngsters were always trying to keep up... We ended up in a pub around the corner from the main church and fighting broke out in an alley round the corner, so quite a few of us steamed up and punches and anything else were thrown, a mob of Hereford broke off and we gave chase, unfortunately for me a was a little faster than the fat bastards I went with and I ended up a fair way in front without realising. I pulled one to the ground and gave him a couple of digs, just then whack.. A few of them ha realised that my mates were to far away and in all honesty they hadn't realised what had happened. I remember coming round in a tea shop with some old ladys seeing to my wounds. I ended up in the hospital where I had a few x rays... Luckily I managed to get to the ground and was let in. I somehow found my best mate who burst into tears... My face was a mess at the time, and the 2 teeth I lost didn't help. Anyway after the match we made our way to Abergavenny for a few and then I had to go to Neville hall as I collapsed. We still have a joke about it, the slow Fu%^}rs.
Also the Swindon cup game was a good one away.. I remember a load of us from Ely walking right round there ground a finding no mob of theres until we got back to where we started. We noticed a fair few in front of us and took a bit of a jog unto them, we were just about to get it on when one of the lads recognised a guy from the valleys who he knew. Goodlaugh that day... Sorry it's so long had a bit to say.

First time I experienced taking an end was Grimsby away 1975-76 season, We left Barry Island at 3am with two coach loads and had a full day in Clethorpes befor going to the game, WE were put in the terrace adjoined to There end with no partition, It was like a proper ancient battle without the chariots, Eventually We were left in the Grimsby end while the Grimsby lot were put in another terrace, We taunted to them all through the game, They looked feking gutted. :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah:
