Comedy's very own existence came about because it was a way people coped with the bad and the negative. The term "would rather laugh than cry" springs to mind.
I've had people take the piss out of me for negative things a fair amount and I just get on with it. It's funny because in these situations it's rarely those directly affected by the "jibes" that say they are offended. It's always the do gooders who try to make themselves look better by speaking up and acting all self righteous.
If Cameron had said "Ed Balls is such a retard, it's like having someone with Tourette's sitting opposite me" then fair enough. That's offensive. However, in this instance he is using a fact and making a joke out of it. Tourette's randomly shout out at inappropriate times... so does Ed Balls (in Cameron's view). Honestly, how is that so overly offensive to people with Tourette's? Maybe we should actually ask someone with Tourette's rather than getting on those high horses?
Berwyn, I appreciate he needs to watch his choice of words due to the role he is in but I really don't think what he said was at all offensive. Just my opinion though!
... and before anyone says, no I am not a Cameron fan. I can't stand the smarmy c**t...
Oh wait... I apologise for saying something offensive about David Cameron... or is that not offensive because it was David Cameron? I need your help on this one citygardens!
You are such a silly little boy.i dont joke about peoples disability's as i do have someone disabled in my immediate family & i can ensure you my life is not severely limited.do you point at people in wheelchairs or laugh at blind people.which ever you want to put it tourette's is a disability that i would not wish on anyone, even yourself
