The Carling cup has always been seen as the resrve cup - maybe this has an impact

Great post

makes you laugh, It's a semi final and a chance to get to Wembley, if we do get there....watch how fast tickets will be sold. plus all the txt messages asking can i get a ticket for them....get down to watch palace and cheer the boys on.

Like i said weeks ago, if we had man city or liverpool, then within 48 hours we would have sold home and away....who cares who we got, we are there to watch Cardiff,. not the other team....

We have sold 2,246 tickets to go away to Palace so far.

Palace have sold 2,960 to come to Cardiff so far.

Palace home is a near sell out., minus our support.

Cardiff's home game thousands and thousands of tickets left.

I am sure this will create an interesting debate. :ayatollah:

Annis, I'm not going and you shouldn't have a go at me and the rest for that. You're minted, we're poor and it's just after Christmas so we're even poorer. I wouldn't have gone even if it was a Man Utd/ Man City combination team with Messi on a one game loan, on account of the pooreness I mentioned above. You and fans leader should pay for the rest of us.

when it matters, palace pull a class support together. I remember few yrs ago when we got beat away at derby 3-0 last game of the season, palace were away at wednesday for a relegation decider, the support they took up there was phenomenal, sheffield station was a sea of red and blue. hats of to them, they have a great support when the occassion merits it.

we've never really been a big club though have we... lets be honest folks

Annis - well done.

I couldnt go to Palace away cos of work comittments but have just emailes them to change dates so that i can go.

This is directly due to your post (what have i been thinking????? City in London in a cup semi final, and i wasn't going!!!!!)

thank you for the wake up call.

last season when blues played west ham in the semi,s the second leg was at st,ands.bare in mind we were 2.1 down from away leg and conceded early in the home leg.stans was sold out that night.in the seconed half we came back to level the tie and force extra time.the rest is history.the ground was buzzing like mad and the team backed to the hilt to spur on the comeback.barry furgs scottish pal who came to watch said it was the best atmosphere he,d been in at a football ground.lads, you can make a difference .if i was in your shoes i,d be pleased that it was palace rather than city or liverpool.you,ve a great chance to get to a major cup final.seize it.if it ain,t a cup worth winning why did arsenal get so upset about losing .proper wrecked their season after that. if you turn the heat up at the home game your team will respond.good luck.i,ll be cheering you on from my settee

I bet they will have a shit load of returned away tickets, IF they are 2 or more down after the 1st leg.

As has been said previously, look at average gates, who are the glory supporters???

will be going to the second leg even if we lose 5-0(which we wont)in london ,the boys and malky deserve a standing ovation after this cup run which has been immense, the amount of effort that has gone into every minute from oxford to blackburn has made me proud to be a city fan :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

TBH the price of Palace away put me off and right after X-mas.
Palace fans only have to pay for a (cheaper) ticket right now and have nearly a month before they have to pay out for coach and have spending money. For me to go to Palace would cost easily £90+, if it was nearer the end of jan I could have done it easily.

As for home attendance well thats just timing, if our game was next week we would have sold a lot more. I think Ambos had until today to guarentee there seat? some may want to move seats for this game to sit with friends so may wait until after the 30th for the spare seats together.

Also worth noting that between 26 Dec and 14 Jan (so roughly 2 and a half weeks) we have/had 5 away games and in the same period Palace only have 3 away games.

I dont think its about being a bigger club, its simply about money

Re: " WHO IS THE BIGGEST CLUB ? "

Fri Dec 30, 2011 6:24 pm

I know what you're saying Annis, but money is tighter in South Wales than in London. Plus its Palace.....if it was Liverpool it would have been sold out ages ago.
As for the bigger club.......Palace were getting 40000 crowds in the late 70's/early 80's when Venables was there. Potentially they are huge.
We've got an awful lot of away trips close together too......WBA is a better and cheaper trip, Forest coming up, just had Watford.
Times are hard. Its a shame the club didnt recognise those loyal fans who have attended all away trips and rewarded them with free transport or something.
Close to 2500 to London midweek is still a tremendous following.

Working on the assumption of 15% allocation then no way...........

I understand your point, but just take myself for example, have not missed a game all season, will be at the home leg but it is a long way from Durban, south Africa for a mid week game! Will be at forest and west broom tho. :ayatollah:

When the tickets came on sale Palace made an offer where fans who bout tickets to the away and home games would get better priority for final tickets.

Why doesnt our club offer these sort of deals to encourage fans to get the tickets now. Ive bought tickets for both home and away and im and ambassador so it doesnt affect me. But how about they offer anybody who travels away the priority for 2 tickets to wembley? and give priority for final tickets to whoever attends the home leg above all season ticket holders. This will encourage pople to buy the tickets and will reward the fans that have supported the carling cup run and not just fans who want a wembley ticket.

Re: " WHO IS THE BIGGEST CLUB ? "

Fri Dec 30, 2011 8:09 pm

To be fair, some people don't want to spend £50+ for a game that's on tele. I'm still going to both legs but I don't blame fans that don't want to go to the away leg. This is a far bigger game for Palace than us in my opinion.

Re: " WHO IS THE BIGGEST CLUB ? "

Fri Dec 30, 2011 8:28 pm

'Its only the Carling Cup'.

This is the main problem.

Lets be honest, its the Johnstons Paint Trophy for the Premier League & Championship.

Another trip to Wembley is a bit of a bore for our fans now, we have been spoilt with 3 trips in 3 years.

I know loads of fans who are seriously failing to get excited about a mid-february trip to Wembley.

Its not like its a new thing now is it, how much will the tickets be?

The Final is February 26th. Its just passed Christmas, on top of League Games, your looking at £23pp for your home ticket and at the very least £60-£70 pp for the away leg. Then if we are lucky enough to get to the final your looking at say £70pp for ticket and travel to Wembley and thats cheap seats!

Thats £163pp extra pay out for football in the next 2 months, more if you go to any other away game and lets not forget the cherry on the cake....

No sooner will you have woken up with your hangover from the day before but you will be greeted with a nice letter from
the Football Club telling you to stump up £400 for your season ticket for the next season to gurantee your seat.

So, if your looking to go to Palace home and Away, Wembley, and renew your season ticket, make sure you have at least £500 disposable income in the next 3 months that you can put aside solely for football, oh yeah, Per Person.

:ayatollah:

Re: " WHO IS THE BIGGEST CLUB ? "

Fri Dec 30, 2011 9:31 pm

For me its too close after Christmas holidays to get time off work to go to the away leg.
I have my home ticket but know a lot of ST havent bothered yet.
If the club communicated that ST holders would get 0 extra tickets for the final if they didnt attend the home semi final then things may pick up.
Saying that there is a month to go before the home tie, and that means a pay day for a lot of people. And people may wait to see the score from the 1st leg.
Plus we have been to wembley a few times since they went there last. (I think!)

Oh and it would be worth going to the home game to see their poxy flare and Ultra sign!

Not picking holes in our loyal support at all,I for one have always praised Cardiff fans. I know times change for everyone including me, From the age of 13 till I was about 35 years old I only missed about 6 away games in the dire days, but now I only see one of my daughters on the weekends, so unless she comes with me, I miss those away games. Everyone has reasons. I am just saying Palace who to me without a doubt are a much smaller club than us, have sold far more than us and I was shocked. I was also saying if it was Man Utd what would of happened ?
Lets be honest it certainly has stirred a great debate up, all the snipers are out on the cowards mb and a couple have shown themselves on here. Certainly created interest in the match. :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

Our home game is much further away (calender wise) I suspect as the game gets closer we will have a big run on tickets. As someone else has pointed out as well, nothing is to be decided on the first leg. I wonder how many Palace would have sold if they would have been away first.
I have a hunch we would have sold more than them eh? :?:

Before the game on Saturday I'm organizing a protest to get this poison out of our club before it's too late and we all believe that PR had resigned 100%, bring banners and balloons, we've got to stand together on this.

Woaaaaaah take it easy, just trying to bring a little lightness to the situation. I don't actually think anybody should pay for anybody else to go to the match, (and I don't think either that a 10 vs 10 fight would be a good idea either to the guy above me who seems to actually have taken that seriously  )

But I will answer your questions because I'm good like that

When did I have a go at people who could not afford to go ? You didn't, you did suggest though (maybe accidentally) that Palace's fans are more loyal for selling out quicker than us

Your the one from the snipers mb who who joins in the name calling etc. I am "from" the other messageboard but I haven't called anybody any names and at least I'm here, happy to receive any abuse you lot want to dish out :(

So who is the fans leader ? Carl is fans leader, then me, then you then Dai Hunt

So why should any other fan pay for another fan ? I can't believe you actually thought I was serious with that one

I am just a fan, why has my post caused so much of a stir with your fellow snipers ? Not sure, they seem sensitive about what you and Carl say. You're a bit sensitive about us lot too though, as shown by your reply to my post. Don't feel bad, I'm ok with it.

So there we are, let there be peace. When I said earlier I'm not going by the way, I meant to the away leg. I'll be at the home one as I usually am :munky2:

If people are picking and choosing their games them I'm not at all shocked its the palace game, that will suffer. For the more casual away follower you've got to appreciate its the month after Christmas and for most an extended period of time until their next pay packet.

Why can't we just be proud that despite having 5 away games in 19 days, we took 1800 to Watford, 1000 to Forest, 1000+ to WBA and will probably take near on 3000 to Palace, despite it being a hard period financially for many at the moment, instead of looking to pick holes in our support.

"Cowards messageboard"

That's it, fight. Only way to solve this. 10 of your vs 10 of ours, I pick the teams and stay well clear. Last man standing's messageboard wins, the other one is dissolved. Each team allowed to pick one wildcard from the official messageboard to be tagged in at any point.

Delmbox or what ever your name is,
I wasnt going to bother replying as you only ever come on here to have a go, not make a good debate.

When did I have a go at people who could not afford to go ?
Your the one from the snipers mb who who joins in the name calling etc.
So who is the fans leader ?
So why should any other fan pay for another fan ?
I am just a fan, why has my post caused so much of a stir with your fellow snipers ?

Where do I belittle anyone for not going ?

We have a fan base of over 100,000 registered fans, so of course I would expect us to sell out if Palace can. Were much bigger than them in my opinion, whats your opinion ?

Good to see you have a good sense of humour then, I know I lack one.

Perhaps you should join our debates more often then. :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

I do every so often but I usually end up taking the mick and somebody takes me seriously and then I have to explain and it's boring for everybody. And anyway if I posted on both boards equally often I'd never leave the house :munky2:
