I remember City selling an incredible 10,000 City shirts in one season under Rick Wright, which was a record then. I loved it, as for the first time ever kids were wearing them all over South Wales.

Our record sales were when Robbie Fowler was here.

And with approx. now well over 18,500 season ticket holders and crowds off over 23,000, WE ARE THE NO 1 SUPPORTED TEAM IN WALES. :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

Crowds of 23,000 are in reality only 18,000 as 5,000 season ticket holders don't bother turning up

So doesn't that make Swansea the best supported team in Wales seeing as we've sold out the home allocation of every single game this season

And dress it up any way you want, we're better than you on the pitch and that is what matters.

Are your season ticket holders there to support you or there to watch their premiership team?

Is it true that some fans were selling their ticket for the Man Utd game for £200 ? I'm sure some did. Do you know how many?

Is it true that your club had to warn your fans not to wear their beloved Man Utd shirts to the Liberty ? Yes. Ever seen a non Cardiff shirt at a Cardiff game?

Your support always has been poor and there is nothing to suggest it will ever be better than ours, as outlined above even when you have been in the top flight your attendances were extremely poor and the Vetch could have held over 25,000 at the time but only the first game Vs Leeds actually sold out. Aye, we hit the first division in the early eighties when there was the biggest recession this country has known until the current one.

Apologies for the red, easiest way to answer each point.

Swansea is constantly in a recession

The number of people turning up for your games is lower than us viewtopic.php?f=2&t=64580&p=607684

We have sold out every home allocation this season and would get thousands more through the gates if the space was there

But you're the best supported team in Wales.

It's phucking comedy gold fair play

:D QUALITYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY :D

But, the space isn't there.

Just like we aren't in the Prem.

Fact is our gates are higher, read the stats. Not that its that big a deal, I'm sure plenty of ST holders don't turn up at yours for Fulham and Bolton, just like we miss some at ours, end of the day its their choice and they are counted on the gate.

You are also boosted by having more away fans visit you to push your gates up.

There are no empty seats in the home end at our as any season ticket holders who are unable to make the game are able to sell their ticket to any of a large number of people desperate to get in.

As I said, we've sold out every home allocation and could have sold thousands and thousands more so this whole "we get bigger crowds than you so we're the best supported team" spiel is a load of bollocks.

It isn't bollox at all.
The FACTS speak for themselves.

Our gates are bigger than yours, full stop.

The stas will be there for years.

You have only had one year of bigger gates than us in the last 15 (about 10 years ago when you had your new ground and a promotion challenge). This will be another.

The best supported side is ALWAYS the one with the biggest gates, UNLESS you are a Jack who likes to change the method of determining it to suit themselves.

Once again, thats us. :ayatollah:

By the way, your sell-on scheme only works where people can be bothered. The Jack ST holder I know can't go to half the games but is too lazy to sell it on.

Yes, of course they are

The club has a hardcore of x supporters and another group of y supporters who would maybe usually watch 50-75% of games for various reasons and z number who would catch the odd game here and there. Now this season they know that in order for them to get to watch any games they have to get a season ticket. This does not mean they are there to watch the opposition any more than when you get better crowds against West Ham rather than one of the smaller clubs that they are there to watch West Ham.

So give it up fella ffs!

I don't think the crowd issue is really that relevant unless we were both in the same division. That said in football terms Swansea are in the acendancy simply because they are in the EPL.

Swansea fans I know freely admit that we are the bigger club so I fail to see why you appear to be in a minority even amongst your own fans. (I think you know that too)

Even the domographics of our support is substantial ( we have a UDZ of 1,400,000). Cardiff is also presently the 10th largest city in the UK. So in football terms you are bigger, however support, city status, tourism , stadia, ecomomies of scale
And probably everything else, you will always be in the shadow of Cardiff. In football terms you are a Wigan. In city status terms you are on par with Portsmouth or Sunderland.

One more thing when we played Blackpool in the playoff final many jacks were terrifield that if we got promoted their future flaoting support would dry up.

Its quite refreshing to me to say that your promotion has had no effect what so ever on our gates - which speaks volumes really.

Apart from the 4-5000 who bought season tickets but don't turn up? Also, there are basically no tickets available for our games for any floating support.

If you buy a season ticket you commit your support for the season. Its the buyers choice if he or she decides to miss a match.

I miss about 3 games a season due to family commitments. Lots of our support is in the Valleys which makes accesability difficult particularly at Night games

Ciniworld in cardiff has a few thousand monthly passes for its films - I can assure you there are always seats available.
