Re: Compass and food outlets outside the CCS

I actually think the SA in the CCS is the best pint of SA I have had. I think this is mainly because Brains beers and their pubs are generally shit though. Their best beer, Rev James, is a recipe they bought from another brewer!

To put it into perspective you can buy 8 bottles of water in Asda for the price of 1 bottle in the CCS so I have started buying his water in Asda. This has presented a problem because of the gestapo attitude of the stadium stewards who noticed he was carrying a bottle of water and stopped us taking it into the stadium. So I had no alternative than topay almost 5 times the cost to get him a bottle inside the stadium, it was the same type of bottle we had just left outside the stadium and he was allowed to take it to his seat in the stadium so obviously no security or safety issue involved.

The following game and the gestapo want us to leave it outside the stadium but this time I show them the ground regulations which say that permission to take foodstuff into the stadium would not be unreasonably witheld. The gestapo tell me that they are just following instructions, I tell them thats exactly the same defence as their brothers used at the Nuremberg trials but it just washed off their heads.

I told them I was taking the bottle into the stadium and if they refused and my grandson was ill as a result I would sue them, the company that employed them and Cardiff City Football Club.

Bottled water may nu seem like much of an issue to people but it does go to the very core of the rip prices at the CCS. :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

if you have a medical problem which requires you to carry fluids you should be allowed in with them
as a steward im not medically trained so im not in a position to question your diagnosis or your medical needs I have to take your word for it, if this happens to me i do say try and keep the bottle hidden so not to annoy other stewards or other supporters who dont know your situation, i also make sure you have my steward number so if you are quizzed during the game you can ask for me directly and i can talk to my colleagues
in future skip the steward and go straight to the team leader even skip the supervisor as they should be more switched on
with regards to decanting bottles and cans outside the stadium is for one reason
different match categories requires different saftey rules so one match you wont have to surrender your bottles, another just to remove the bottle tops, in a different game it will be a complete decant. Now over the years we have had problems due to this inconsistency so if we do the same thing week in week out no one can say there is inconsistency in our policy. This works well for away fans especially when we have more troublesome fans saying i bet you dont do this when other clubs are here and we can turn around and say yes we do.

"more troublesome" fans eh?

Daring to question a steward eh?

FFS no wonder that ground is shite

Compass do an excellent cup of tea, although at £1.50 a cup it should be. I have never tasted the food and never will as the prices are disgusting.

At most I'm in the stadium 2 hours and most people should be able to refrain from eating for that amount of time. Get everyone else thinking the same and we have a boycott on our hands

ok well youve mis-quoted me very well
and to be fair your attack is a bit weak
yes troublesome fans they do exist
not sure how long youve been around following football
but football has a problem with violence at football
Annis has written books about it
theres been films and documentaries made about it
and though the problem isnt as big as it used to be it still exists and the police feel it requires some strict rules regarding it.
Im not really sure what as you quote 'daring to question a steward' means but if you read my post i agreed with the guy that with his medical condition it was a bit pathetic he couldnt take a bottle of water in the ground with him, ive tried to be helpful
but if that has bruised your ego or ruined your idea of what stewards do, i do apologise
but it was a cheap shot
and not very well thought out

Well thank you for belittling me. :(

Oh hang on!

I did NOT misquote you, i simply highlighted words you yourself had written. To misquote
you I'd have to swop words, add words or take words away.

To me when you call someone troublesome just for 'questioning' whether you treat all fans the
same, it sounds like you are only happy when supporters nod their heads at you all like
dogs in the back of a cortina...

You mention violence? Have you seen much at the CCS? If your there to help cut out fighting
at football i'm assuming you never went to NP for the last two/three years of its existance
where there were barely ANY arrests for fighting, barring a few dickheads performing in the
away ends. You all missed the boat lad. CCTV stops the fighting, all you do is stop people
enjoying their Saturday afternoon

ok not mis-quote then mis-understand ill apologise for that
we decant bottles and cans at every game to prevent confusion over different rules at different games and stops certain groups of fans feeling victimised
and yeah i worked at Ninian Park them some nice photos of me in one of Annis' books at a certain Newport game ive also worked during visits from Birmingham they were lovely people whilst blinding one of our stewards.
No as of yet CCS has been trouble free and i hope it stays that way for the sake of football if nothing else.
