Ive never heard so much rubbish before.
What about Owen Hargreaves and that Middlesborough defender, they deflected away from Wales as they got older.
Rhys Williams ( sounds welsh !! ) played for Wales U21 - but then went on to play for the AUSSIES.. (nation of birth )

What an embarassing thread. Whitts lives and works in Wales, but he's English.
Why the f*ck would he want to play for Wales? He'd go down in my estimation
if he said he'd play for us. He has no ties to Wales. I'm glad he's happy here and
chuffed he's playing for Cardiff City. This idea is as daft as drums in the CCS

Excuse me person, Giggs never played for England under 21.
He played for English schoolboys - due to the reason that at schoolboy level, you played for the nation in which you go to school.
But I'm sure you knew that already.

U21's now mean fck all sadly.
If we break the gentlesmans agreement and let Witts represent Wales it is us who will lose out in the long term.
England would basically have the pics of every welsh player with the exception of city and swansea players.

This home country rule only suits one country, England.

Bollocks.
After all, it doesn't benefit us at all with Bale playing for Wales, right?

If Whitts plays for Wales, I might as well support West Ham!

I would welcome Peter Whittingham into the Welsh team with open arms, Hes good enough for England if Jay Bothroyd is good enough to have a one cap wonder then Whitts should have gone to South Africa 2010

So you don't have to be Welsh to get in the side then Chief or have close relatives that are Welsh

I did not score in the parameters. However, when England played Wales who Whitts to win? ? If the answer is not Welsh, then he should not play Wales.

So exactly who the f**k are you to call this an embarrasing thread , Im just stating a fact that was brought to light recently regarding the residency rules for International football and in my opinion Whitts is just as Welsh as say Ashley Williams , Steve Morison and Jack Collison ( well apart from the fact he was good enough for England's U21's and the others were not ) when it comes down to nationality and how you've been brought up . This Forum is open to all to post any thread they wish and hopefully others comment on it the pros , cons and their opinions ! If its too embarrasing for you then just dont bother saying anything next time .
And to close how many Welsh born players have decided to play for England coz they have an English grandparent ?? And if they did would that make them Welsh still , ofcourse it would !

Earnshaw lived in WALES while he was still crawling, he has every right to play for the only Country he has ever known.
Whitts is a proud Englishman and i respect him for that, but would i want him in a Wales shirt ? NO WAY !!.
This would undermine all the young Dragons that are doing OK by themselves and will make a massive impact in world football IMO.
I love Whitts

but the only shirt i want to see him in; is a BLUE one

I am pretty sure this rule does not apply to UK nations because of the nature of our set up. If you are born abroad but hold a british passport you can play for any of the home nations regardless of where your parents are from. I am pretty sure Eric Young and John Robinson did not qualify for Wales by bloodline
