My advice is....

firstly to stay on in education for as long as you can afford to.

If you are having trouble getting work, have little work experience, and can afford to, then take some vouluntary work. It will boost your CV with 'real' work experience making you more employable and it may lead to offers of paid work.

Not saying that you are, but if your attempts to get work involve filling out online applications and emailing CVs to online adverts, you will need to be more proactive in your attempts for work. Statistically the least successful way of getting work is sending in an application form online. A better method is to make yourself presentable and visit the places that you are interested in working (even uninvited), armed with a copy of your CV. Then introduce yourself in a positive manner, enquire about any opportunities, be very positive and leave them with your CV and a pleasant opinion about you. The reason that this method is more successful, is that your potential emplyer has already made a connection with you and you have already (hopefully) painted a positive picture of yourself.

Most importantly (and without trying to sound patronizing), don't lose heart and don't give up.....remember Colonel Saunders made over 1,000 attempts at finiding an invester who believed in his magical chicken recipe, before KFC became a success!
