Lol, so why not tell us your honest opinion after the Southampton game then? It would have had a lot more credibility.

See you next year Stan. Not a dig, just my honest opinion.

Re: MID TABLE AT BEST FOR CCFC THIS SEASON

Think your post answered my question actually.

New manager
New players
Playing catch up after 10 games.

One thing I learned from last season from us is you MUST get off to a good start & bank points as teams around you will keep on winning, especially this year with the quality that's come down.

With the things you mentioned that I listed above I don't think it is ideal for a promotion push.

But hey what do I know. As I've said many times its just my opinion but we will see how things pan out.

MM must be backed imho to give you a fair crack of the whip.

10 games. Can't see what's strange about judging a team after 10 games.

I value your opinion &
Yes we have a task on our hands but with the manager, board & players we have we won't be seeing you anytime soon. :D

Appreciate your view Stan.

Expectations are'nt as high as last year. i honestly think that we have a team capable of getting to the play off's and then it's a lottery who performs on the day. :) :)

I'm sure the owners will back MM in the transfer market, but he is looking for the right type of player that won't affect the team spirit that he has installed in the team.

It was good today seeing Joe Ralls getting his first senior goal for the bluebirds today, after only being given professional contract on Wednesday, what a cracker it was. :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

I'm really enjoying this season so far, as recent results have gone who know's what is going to happen, the Championship is so unpredictable. :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

And that's what makes it so good to watch. :)

Not at all Yank.

You should know from history I'm not into point scoring.

Its a legitimate debate imho & has produced some interesting posts.

If I had said the same after 5-6 games I'd stand by what I said. I don't think you have enough numbers or quality to mount a. Serious challenge.

STAN

YOU MUST BE ONE HUGE SOCCER FAN TO BE ABLE TO FIND THE TIME TO EXAMINE CCFC IN THE DEPTH THAT YOU HAVE.HOWEVER FOOTBALL IS NOT PLAYED ON A PC NOR SHOULD IT BE A INDICATOR FOR FUTURE PROGRESS. ME MYSELF I THINK ANY POSITION IN THE TOP HALF OF THE TABLE THIS SEASON WILL BE A ACHIEVMENT IN ITSELF.WE ARE NOT THAT FAR APART AS FOR OUR EXPECTIONS FOR OUR BOTH CLUBS THIS SEASON IF I OFFERED YOU 13 POSITION THIS SEASON I THINK YOU WOULD BITE MY ARM OFF.PS RESERVE YOURE OPPINION ON OUR EX CENTER FORWARD UNTIL YOU ALSO HAVE HAD A SEASON OF WATCHING THE PHYSIOS ARSE UP IN THE AIR AT LEAST THREE TIMES A GAME FOR NEEDLESS INJURYS,JUST WATCH DERRY BARTON AND THE LIKES THEY WILL SOON TIRE OF THIS.

MY GUESS YOU WILL FINNISH 16th GOOD LUCK

All it is, is just I can see what you've got at your disposal & I fear the worst with regards to a promotion push but as you said 3-4 GOOD loans will do you the world of good. Loans are not ideal as we found out but as it stands it could. Make your season.

:ayatollah:

The thing is, at the moment there are no teams in the division who stand out as being clearly better than anyone else. Even at this early stage last season, it was clear that QPR were going to be the side to beat, and that we were likely to be up there aswell. There is no team like that this year - even West Ham look unconvincing, and Leicester could be like us last year with a strong squad on paper but not really a team.

At the moment, I still think we are one of as many as 16 teams in the division who are capable of a top 6 place!

Elad-great post mate & I like your line about enjoying your football as that is ultimately the most important thing & you won't find a more exciting league than the Championship.

Crack-im a football fan its not hard to sit down & read a paper or a review or watch a game on the tv so I would say I do what many millions do every week, watch football & make an opinion on it.

As for Jay if that time comes fair enough Warnock will have him out but I can only judge him on what I've seen and at the moment he's been first class every game.

Same to yourselves mate. Good luck :ayatollah:

dont expect much from this season altho malky has put together an interesting team, battlers, something we never had under jones. burke tho was pretty shocking all last season, so was chopra and jay went missing after christmas. only bellers can hold his head up out of the 4 you quoted. we have a better defence and midfield than last season. our attacking line needs a few additions mind. then we could be talking.

Obviously we all know you had a MUCH better squad last season than your current one but with MM at the helm I firmly think you have a great manager for the future, but unfortunately not right now.

From an outsiders point of view I would say your squad is weak probably the weakest of the current top 6-8 teams. You have some good young players & of course you have experience in Miller & Earnie but I don't see that match winner you really do need in the Championship. Taarabt for us was immense but he couldn't be half the player he was without players like Derry, Clint Hill, Jamie Mackie & Ali Faurlin around him last year that gave him the license to do what he did. I don't see a Cardiff player that can take games by the scruff of the neck & lead you into battle (Bellamy)

I also don't feel that MM has been backed sufficiently by your owners or I'm pretty sure he would of brought in a couple of better quality players than you did. Miller & Earnie were good 3 years ago & I honestly don't see them getting the goals you will need to fire you up the league.

You are already 7 points off of Southampton (counting a far superior GD) & get a few injuries & I think you will free fall.

Unlucky today, how did you play? As I say not a dig at all purely a football based opinion but as always would love to be proved wrong as its no secret I'd love to see Cardiff City in the Premiership as you are a big big club who would flourish in the top flight.

Unfortunately it won't be this season.

Agree mate it takes more than names to get up. Only 'top' player we had last year was Taarabt but we were a proper team that's what got us up.

You are right about West Ham, Leicester etc but the point I've been constantly hitting home is numbers & quality, a few injurys & both of them clubs could call on very decent back up players whereas I don't think Cardiff could. That is where I see you failing this year.

Not on your manager
Not with your team spirit
Not with your grit & determination
Not with your will to win

But simply your lack of numbers & quality players that I feel you need big time in the Championship.

Agree, a season is a marathon not a sprint but in a marathon the golden rule is to pace yourself. How long can a team play out of their skins before burn out? At this rate we'll be hitting the wall by xmas.Is it just a coincidence we're picking up so many injuries or is it a result of the way we play?

Losing players like;

Bothroyd
Bellamy
Chopra
Burke

Are going to affect any team but not replacing them with players half as good as them is a sign that things are not all that well at the club.

Just my take on it mate for what its worth.

Sta, what has Bothroyd 'added' to your squad?? He goes missing for half the game (sitting on his backside looking forlorn at the referee as the game goes on around him for 5 minutes or so) and could potentially score a lot more goals if he was less of a Prima Donna and partook of the game a little more....

Not sour grapes. I always had a go at him for 'giving up' too easily

In a nutshell Jay has been quality.

Plays a thankless task up front on his own battling with Premiership hardened defenders, bringing our midfield into play at every opportunity & wins a lot more balls than I thought he would considering some on here said he wears concrete boots!

If he was more predatory he'd of had 5 goals by now but that's not a worry they will come, I'd be more worried if he never got in goal scoring positions.

That's the spirit Taffy lad :ayatollah:

Plenty echo your sentiments with regards to how you are playing so as you say we will see.

My point being I don't think the players you have got will get you up simple as that. Even some good loan signings will make it a massive task & that's if MM is even allowed to bring in who he wants.

Leicester, West Ham, Brighton, Hull, Burnley, Boro, Ipswich, Birmingham & Leeds all have stronger squads than yourselves in my opinion and the 3 promoted will be from these.

I saw your highlights from Hull & I have to say although I can't comment on the overall game the 2 goals you conceded were shocking, first one the Hull player was granted way to much space & the second was unbelievable, your defence let a ball cross the whole of your goal mouth bypassing 5 Cardiff players til the one Hull player connected & slotted it away.

You won't go up with defending like that & further strengthens my points you just don't have enough quality.

No need to get arsey mate its a football debate & I've never once come across as anything but fair & straight down the line in all my threads. I even said on this thread I may have judged you to early but on reflection I will stick with my original post that its a long season & I don't think you have either the quality or quantity to get promoted.

Opinions are like arse holes-everyone's got one but no one wants to see the other guys!!

The new manager has got a team that will crawl onto the pitch and play if they have too.
The new players are busting a gut, and once we find an ideal strike partner for Miller we
will start thrashing teams. As for playing catch up?? Every season in this division a team
has come from nowhere after xmas. Stan, we are only TWO wins off the top of the table.
We dont know that Malky isnt being backed. Perhaps he just wont sign players he dont
really want, that wont fit into his plans.

With an incomplete squad we have already beaten West Ham, Southampton, drawn with
Leicester with a team that couldnt walk, taken blackpool to the cleaners on their own
ground in the most one-sided 1-1 I've ever seen (yes, it was that missing striker we needed!)

Your entitled to your opinion Stan, but the bare facts are....

Your opinion is ill-informed, picked up from snippets you've seen on 'The Championship' show
