Cracking fish. Do you pre bait the swim??
I used to fish the Belmont stretch in matches years ago. We used to draw for the pegs in a pub above the river and walk down. (I forget the name?) More often than not it was with the Cardiff Nomads. Winter was usually sit it out for a few big Chub or hit the Bleak!
Had some nice roach and tench as well then, but not in big numbers.
Further past the pump house. Its pressured now tho so was well pleased, back to basics bed of hemp with meat over the top. 8lb line and hair-rig the business end.

Yeah, canoeists ruin it a bit in the summer, may try for Barbel this winter as only ever go for Pike up there, but have all the Barbel gear so will give it a go!

Cheers for the tip

saw a massive Chub one day when looking over the bridge by the Mill Stad! Bet fish love the cover the stadium overhang provides, tricky to fish there though!

How about a Forum Fishing trip? As opposed to Nukes's Forum piss up's

I catch plenty of Salmon and Trout in the River Taff by the Melingriffith estate by Llaandaff North, Radyr Wier, and Hailey Park sections. Also good for Trout if you fish under the Western Ave Bridge next to Tesco Extra in Gabalfa.
You can use the basics. Maggots, worms and bread in any kind of feeder and you should get a lot of bites.
Forget Cefn Mably. That is lazy, no fun fishing, and it's like fishing for trout in a bath tub.
