Re: BOTHROYD INJURED ON QPR DEBUT

Good post eddie.

Seems like you boys had a real love / hate relationship with Jay but as I said if anyone can get a player playing its Warnock & I truly believe we will see a fit sharp Bothroyd scoring goals this coming season.

the dreaded hamstring tweak. heard the same reason for him limping off in december for us,didnt see him again for bout a month which really cost us and when jay did come back he was clearly not fit, will not bust his arse to get fit again.

And no it wasn't a grass burn to his aristotle it was from a pretty harmless looking challenge. Warnock hoping its nothing serious.

Grim season ahead for us me thinks

Stan, a broken bootlace is serious for Jay and enough to keep hiom out for two weeks....or until someone replaces it for him!!

Can you remind me what his reported salary is per week??

Thanks

PS Now you're not in our league "Good Luck for the coming season" and I sincerely hope you do well

My only true beef is with the team from west Wales

Cheers Sven. Massive task for us to survive with what's happening behind the scenes but personally I'm happy to just see us mix it again with the big boys.

As for salary I was told a basic of £23k pw, add on's £2k per appearance, £2k every time names in a match day squad & £3k per goal.

Bluebirds23- had lengthy discussions with DJ Campbell over the last month, all went a bit pear shaped last week due to a reason but I'm assured talks are back on course and we are close to doing a deal.

Also sniffing around another good Prem striker (not Crouch).

The advantage of having Jay in the side is he can produce that moment of magic. The home game against QPR with his goal is a good example of that.

However the moments of magic were few and far between and were practically none existant going for the second half of the season. So a player with Jays quality has to make up for that. The first half of the season his workrate made up for it when the glimpses of magic were not happening, hence why he got his international debut. The second half of the season, well if it was not for those glimpes no one would have realised he was there.

The criticism he was getting because of this did get to him and he started to turn against the fans. He was falling into the ways of DJ. The Derby County game was evidence of that. When he stepped up to take the penalty everyone was surprised it was him, including DJ. When he put it away he celebrated in front of the Canton as to say stuff you lot. It was then I realised he was on his way regardless if we went up or not.
