How do you actually download themes etc and actually get them onto the phone

You use Winterboard to APPLY most things you download, and the search icon in Cydia to find tweaks.... The changes icon is used to show you the latest tweaks as they roll out and any updates available to your tweaks, the manage icon is used to add or remove sources, or to remove any packages you have installed previously, the sections icon will give you the index of each and every section of downloads available.

Eg - for a good tweak - search for the "scoobydoo doo" Font by iPhone.ruler, when it installs it will go in with a tweak called BytaFont (this is the program for changing your system Fonts!" install it. Once Cydia installs it, go back to your iPhone home screen and hit the new Blue BytaFont icon and Apply the new scoobydoo font!" this is one of my favourites and looks awesome!!

Did you do a recent sync and backup with iTunes? There are 2 ways to fix an apple logo boot screen freeze, one involves a full restore where you could lose any unsaved data the other involves using a 3rd party program to take it out of the boot loop your jammed in.....

the phone synced yesterday when i plugged it in to itunes before i jailbraked it

Ok - your best bet is to try and remove the loop you're jammed in first, you need to google a program called "tiny Umbrella" once you've got to the webpage to download it pick whether you want the one for windows or mac, and install and open up T.U. - then connect your phone to pc, tell me if TU recognises that your iPhone is connected in the left hand panel? - if you can clearly see it is recognised - then click the "kick from recovery" tab on the right, and see if TU manages to kick the phone out of your loop? Let me know - I am on iPhone during work so will check as often as I can!

Thanks for putting up all this information Craig, I managed to do it all and I've installed BytaFont, Winterboard etc. Where are all the free apps though mate cos I can't get any of them to download from Installous>?

Installous works fine, if you follow mine and daffyd's convo from earlier on in this thread.

Once Installous is installed go into it's settings, and set it to install automatically, meaning after a app Is downloaded it will install straight away rather than wait for you to install it manually. Sometimes you will get dodgy IPA's which send back an error but just chose to download it from one of the other mirrors until you get a working copy, some of the servers require you to enter a 4 digit confirmation code to start the download, - suppliers like fileape and mediafile

I'll post some screen shots later of mine (pressing power and home quickly anywhere with iPhone - takes a quick screen shot that goes into your camera media;) )

In simple terms if u or I designed a tweak we wanted to share with everyone we would upload it to a repo! For everyone to download at cost or free! You can add many more repo's but insanelyi covers most tweaks for free.

Some one asked me the other day about jailbreaking from this method - and said when they were clicking on it to install cydia it was just going back to the home screen and nothing was happening!!

AnimateBattery, Winterboard, Dreamboard, SBsettings, BytaFont (scooby doo font), Unlimtones, ToneFXs Pro, APTbackup, CallClear, MailLabels, Gridlock, Graviboard, Activator, AnimateBattery, Barrel or Barrel2, 3DBoard or Deepend (samething) Bigify, CameraButtons, CyDelete, FBPhotosave, Five-Column SB, IGotYa, Infinidock, Infinifolders, Lockdown Pro, Springtomize, User Agent Faker.

Then we have the ones that are not in the settings folder of the phone but are activated using Winterboard:

Transparent Passcode Lock, Clear Folder Theme, Transparent StatusBar for ios4, i4 invisible slider, No Clock Background ios 4.3, Blue HD retina status bar, Transparent Dock, Black Navigation Bars ,Blue Badges, SMS Bubbles with background colours, Serious SBSettings HD, Pull to refresh(for safari), i4 3uk carrier logo, Installous (App) There are a few more but not sure of their actual names! If you want a tweak but don't know if it exists - give me a shout, it probably does!!!
