Renault 5. Thought I looked dead cool driving down Collingdon Road to work every morning

Late 70s early 80s. Especially on a Thursday (pay day), picking up my copies of Shoot, Goal, the NME, and Melody Maker on the way. Happy days

Rover Metro 1.1 insurance was £700 a year if I remember correctly. Arguably one of the more reliable cars i've owned, in that it didnt attempt to kill me.

Ford Fiesta Mk2 Popular Plus
1 litre engine.
Passed my test in 1999 and went straight into this. We did a straight swap, my mothers old C reg Sierra (1.6) with a fucked engine and rusty bodywork for this baby with a brand new MOT.
I put about 40,000 miles on it in a year and it still run like a dream. I upgraded about 18 months later to the newer Fiesta Mk3 - which ironically died within 15 months. The guy I sold the Mk2 to, kept it running until about 2006 when the body just started collapsing around the engine.

1966 C reg Mini 1100. Paid £50 in 1980. Max speed of 90 mph on clock but my mate told me it would go much faster!!!! Brilliant car went through driveshafts (cv joints?) on a regular basis. Until I wrote it off of course.

Mine was a Morris Minor 850cc With a split wind screen (it came in two parts) the indicaters were little yellow arms that popped out either side of the doors neer the roof. In the back of my memory box I can still smell the leather seats. Although you had to hold it in second gear some times it was still my Bently. It was a two door with the seats folding right up to the wind srceen. SO there was plenty of room in the back for an all out in any position shag on a lifetime parked on Cowbridge common, Hence along came a son 9 mounths after buying it.
