He was without a doubt. The Talent of the lad was on par with George Best. Does this mean, He can never be given a life or a second chance ?

Numerous chances with QPR.
Numerous chances with us - he was at the Priory, paid for by the club, more than once.
You get to a point where it's, how many more chances are you prepared to give?
And let's be honest, people's view is shaped solely by his skills. If he was a run of the mill midfielder, someone who would only ever be a backup but add squad depth, how many would want him back? I'd say a lot less than those wanting Jeanne back...

I will promise you now that if leon does a full pre season he still has the potential to not only be one of our best players but one of the best in the championship! His skill levels are frightening! He could be our taraabt! It's a big ask after so long out if the game but would you rather he do it at Brighton or for us? He still has a long way to go but perhaps the script is written for leon to come back and play a vital part firing his home town club into the premier league!

Without doubt most talented player I ever saw after earnie.
Mon Jun 06, 2011 9:03 pm
Talent means absolutely fcuk all without the right attitude and application.
Loads of relatively limited players like Savage, Gary Neville, even Kevin Keegan made it at the top level despite their lack of outstanding natural ability. They achieved what they achieved through hunger and dedication.
Leonne Jeanne is just not made of the right stuff to make any sort of career in the game. Forget about him. We've seen enough wasters in blue shirts in the past few months.

Leon Jeanne played two league games for City in the 2001/2 season, on Sept 15, away to Cambridge, & on Sept 29, home to BHA. He also played in two Welsh cup games, including the final v Swansea, May 13/02 which we won 1-0 [remember Sam & the free bus travel for the Swans fans]. He never played for us after that.

He was done no favours as a kid but thats another story,
As a footballer? I'd take him back in an instant, no doubt one of the most naturally gifted players I've seen, If things had turned out differently for him, I reckon he'd have been the star of the show on the Nike Adverts

lets all hope he takes his final chance. good luck Leon......

If we are talking about number of chances I have been supporting the city since 1973 and now do their photography.
37 Years and still no Premiership Football.
Im going to give them another chance next season

If Roger Gibbins was impressed then why not. I would trust Gibbo's judgement any day of the week.

My concern on leon jeanne he is 30 years old....
he's obviously had drugs and alcohol problems, that will take a toll on him now in his 30's
I dont think he's got much left in the tank, will be prone to injurys - if we had 3 good years out of leon jeanne as a good championship player it would be a true cinderella man conquest
saying that .... alot of players get away with drinking heavy unoticed.. , we'v had relitively shit players like whitley not much talent but a dog in midfield..
Mon Jun 06, 2011 9:55 pm
n a par with george best?! callum best maybe, lets not get silly here.
Mon Jun 06, 2011 9:57 pm
i've seen him at his best and seen him at his worst...
wasn't too long ago he was only an average welsh league division 1 player
fitness is the key, like we all witnessed. in th play offs when the better fitter swansea team showed us how to do it

Not bothered, if I remember Sam bent over backwards to help him and he threw it back in everyone's face.
Maybe everyone does deserve another chance... But if he does then surely chopra deserves one as well?

One of the best players ive seen, incredable talent and at the time 10 times better than earnie, just never gave himself a chance
Tue Jun 07, 2011 8:57 am
Who are we to question or judge him ? He's a professional footballer he could and would run rings around me on the pitch so let the footballing experts make their minds up on this ..... be it Brighton or indeed any other club .

Hits the nail on the head. He was given lots of chances by individuals and by the club...just never did it for himself...
I really wish him well with his new enthusiasm. Make the best of it lad.
Tue Jun 07, 2011 9:57 am
cant see a pre-season training session doing him or us any harm, and with added tests at random times, we could decide closer to the start o fthe season if were right for each other,
how many others on here can say they, during their life are luck to have had another chance, I Can
my ony worry is that we have a drink culture in the club and that needs stamping out, or just shoot the virus
come home leon

Jimbo27 wrote:Those of you who have followed my posts on Leon Jeanne's comeback attempt over the last few months will know that he has been offered the chance by Gus Poyet to resurrect his career at Brighton this summer. Leon has worked incredibly hard to get fully fit and is confident that if he can get a full pre-season under his belt he will be able to play championship football this season.
However, over the weekend Leon turned out for the Cardiff City Legends team in a charity game. Admittedly the opposition wasnt the best, and the game was not full pelt but some of the tricks Leon pulled out of the bag defied belief. At one point he nutmegged his marker 3 times in the space of 10 seconds which earned the cheers of the crowd before flicking the ball up and volleying an inch perfect ball to Paul Giles on the opposite side of the pitch. After the game Roger Gibbins (who now works in the hospitality area for City) approached Leon and told him it would be a shame if he signed for Brighton as he could still do a job for City. Leon is of course a huge City fan, he still attends games now, and he has always been gutted at the way his career ended here before. Roger told Leon that if he fancied doing pre -season with us he would speak to the club and see if something could be sorted out. Obviously, with no manager currently in place this is difficult but it is certainly a termpting prospect for Leon to finally right some wrongs for his home town club.
So the big question is, if Leon Jeanne came through pre season and was offered a contract, would you welcome him back?
Tell Leon to stick with Gus and go to Brighton. Clearly Christian has used his link with Gus and Christian himself knows how well Leon with Gus will be given the chance he deserves.
Good Luck Leon .

There is absolutely no harm in bringing him in and having a look is there. If its a no then nothing lost. But if Brighton take him on and he is a success then we will look pretty foolish
