HOW DID YOU FALL IN LOVE WITH CARDIFF CITY ?

How did you fall in love with football, and particularly Cardiff City? Make it however long as you want!

I didnt fall in love, I was just born under a grange-end stand. Its either in you or not.

I was given free tickets to watch my cousin play for City back in 2001. It was my first live football game and I was instantly hooked by the whole experience.

I had supported Cardiff for a few years prior to that but I guess that’s when my addiction with Cardiff City really started.

My first game was the Portsmouth league cup game in 1990 at the age of 8. My Dad took me, I think I got in free as my Dad knew one of the guys working the old style stalls in the Grandstand and he just lifted me over them.

At that age I think I probably supported Liverpool or Man Utd or something - like most kids do at that age, so the idea of going to an actual football match was something kids from around these parts only dreamed of.

The game was brilliant, completely different to anything I'd ever seen on Match of The Day etc, and something clicked that day that made me think of football in a completely different way. Dad took me to pretty much every home game then for the next 3 or 4 years until I was old enough to start going on my own with school friends etc.

I couldnt fall in love with AFC Porth so i picked the next best club
