Indeed.Although im sure if one of us gets there then it'll spur the other to make it next season. The worry is though that whoever doesnt make it,and it could be the both of us then our current best players will probably leave in their droves.

Kudos on making the playoffs but with a full house at the city ground, you'll crumble in an away game as you've done almost every away game the last few months. The tie will be dead and buried Thursday night, then you'll all become Forest fans for our date with destiny on the 30th.

However, I was genuinely pleased yesterday that we got 4th rather than 3rd place as I would much prefer to play Reading - not that that means I think we will definitely beat them, but I think we do have a very good chance, whereas I wouldn't have fancied our chances against Forest, especially as the City Ground has been a fortress this year - at least if we meet them in Wembley, they won't have that advantage.
If we can just get past Reading, then even though we have the liability of having a worse manager in Jones at Wembley, we do at least have Bellamy this year, who hopefully will be able to counter the Jones liability on the pitch, and get us over the winning line. All we fans can do is heartily support the team for (hopefully) another 3 games and hope someone else may freeze on the big day at Wembley - if its the Jacks, there's every possibility, as they've not played there for 14 years, whereas it would be our 4th appearance there in 3 years.
The other factor that I think black swan is overly optimistic over is that they own all of their squad and will be strong next year. I think that if they fail to get up, that they could lose De Vries, Pratley, Rangel, Sinclair, Askley Williams and obvioulsy Borini. This is not my view, but what the Jacks in work with me are saying. I think they may also struggle to keep hold of Rogers. If on the other hand, they get up, then I think the future is potentially bright for them.
For myself, if we get up, if the Jacks want to crow about being higher than us in the table, then that's fine by me as that shows an unhealthy interest in foolish local issues that don't matter a jot to the wider world - but there's a big if in there, and if on the other hand they got up, then that would be a completely different matter.
That's a great post apart from you being happy finishing 4th.It's crucial that you hit form going into the playoffs. We could have sat back yesterday and got a draw or a defeat but we wanted to hit the ground running and not worry about who we might face in the playoffs.I would have rathered Reading if im being honest but Forest....bring em on,and im sure after the way we beat them last month they wont fancy playing us.

hmmm, I suppose time will tell ultimately on this one, but I think you may actually have lost a trick here, as you could have ensured that you would have been playing Reading FC rather than us, given the way we both went into the games yesterday - but if you're right and you beat Forest over the 2 legs, then fair play to you. If on the other hand, Earnie is celebrating a victory and doing the ayatollah down the Liberty in 8 days time, then perhaps we have been the canny ones here, as I supect Forest will be easier to beat at Wembley than over 2 legs, one of which will of course be played at the City Ground.
We may be wrong on Reading FC being the easier team, but we both seem to agree on that one, and I'm pleased we've got them - perhaps finally a bit of tactical genius from Dave Jones.
Do you think you will lose some of your best players if you don't go up, as that's what Swansea fans in work with me are saying is probable?

All said,if we don't go up and Rodgers stays then i wouldnt put it past him to get all the above players to stay, such is his popularity at the club.Interesting times ahead for both clubs.

Bodde? The guy whose knee has broken down how many times?
Borini may stay? Top clubs across Europe are after him!
Ash, people keep saying Prem interest, has there actually been any serious interest?
Rangel imo is somewhat overrated.
Rodgers may well be popular, but the bottom line is the fact those players could earn far more elsewhere.
