I agree, I don't think there was anything Jones could have done yesterday to change the result. He stuck with a team that had been unbeaten in 8 games, and Middlesbrough scored from their first 3 attacks, all through major defensive errors.

DJ cannot be blamed for not motivating his players, they should all be pumped going into that game knowing how close they are to promotion. Promotion means just as much to the players as it does to the fans.

The 3 goals so early just knocked the stuffing out of us, you could see the frustration, and the desperation, so much pressure on the players, and mistakes were creeping in. No decisions went our way all day, and as a player it must be hard to see your dreams slipping away in front of your eyes.

I felt sick watching, imagine how the players felt, knowing they had to carry on and somehow turn the result around.

Whenever we get desperate we revert back to the long ball routine, just to get the ball into the opposition half, but we play much better with the ball on the ground.

Yesterday is a day we need to forget, and now focus on the future and the playoffs. Calling for Dave Jones head now will do no good, and as fans all we can do is continue to support the team until the seasons end.

I'm optimistic as to how we will fare in the playoffs, but on our day when we click, we can beat anyone in this division. It just all depends on what Cardiff City team turn up. :ayatollah:

Although i can see your argument for being unbeaten kev mac is not a centre back and was physically exposed against qpr.
If jones had done his homework and watched the hull boro game he would have seen that all their threat was down the right hand side with that pacy jack tw*t.
to me bringing hudson in and moving kev to left back would have made the back four stonger and kev would have nullified the threat.
how many points has that left back position cost us this season

To be fair Steve, until yesterday, J'Lloyd Samuel has coped with pace extremely well but yesterday he looked like a slug. I can only assume Jones was unaware of Samuel hitting the bars the night before because he subbed him off early enough.

ONE major thing was missing yesterday and that was MOTIVATION.That is the MANAGERS job initially to Motivate your players before they come on the pitch and the captain take over on the pitch Its all well and good people saying DJ is calm in the dressing room and he keeps his players calm etc but MAYBE they need more of a Kick up the back side BEFORE they come on the pitch .Also i rate Chopra but if the man was really drinking until early hours of the morning then he HAS to go .AGAIN this is a problem that DJ has got there which a good manager would know how to manage and sort it out

im just pissed of zabie because the left back berth has cost us dear this season and i thought we had solved the problem by playing kev there.
how me missed those long legs of hudson yesterday with his last gap tackles

Yeah, I am questioning how fit Hudson is though. Surely if he was fit they'd have brought him on ahead of Blake? I still don't think he's ready. I felt let down by Samuel big time yesterday though.

This is the highest position cardiff have finished since 1971 , season not over yet .

Dave Jones has jusr taken us on an unbeaten run , no praise for that.

You can motivate team all you like but they have to then perform .

Spurs were motivated against their Quarter final opponents - what was score ?

Arsenal motivated for games they are not wining anything.

Sack Wenger and Rednapp !!

Just because you dislike jones its boring EVERY time we lose to blame him , blame his salary , lame his sides salary , if we did not pay these wages we would not have these players .

First match against Sheff United everyone thought we would go down , Jones has built team to finish best ever season .

Lets get behind the team for play-offs or to go up if points reduction to QPR - its getting a very boring blame culture .

Charlton , Villa fans who wanted their manager out , now would love to be back where they were - the Jones out brigade carry on - but be careful what you ask for !! Salaries does not buy succes , also our squad is obviously not the best in hampionship but 3rd best so far .

My contribution on this MB , my opinion . :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

We started a lot better second half but the pessimistic side of me feels we only played better because Middlesbrough let us and allowed us more possession and time.

I dont think Jones is a bottler at all.
They had three attacks and scored - the first 2 goals were schoolboy errors.
Everyone one of us would have picked roughly the same team as Jones picked yesterday - I may have gone for Hudson - if he was fully fit.
I would like to know what Jones said to the players before kickoff - as it didnt work, what was their game plan ?
They seemed to be much better in the second half - but again couldnt score.

The players that came on the park yesterday should be of the mindset of READY TO FIGHT, PREPARE TO DIE and ABLE TO KILL, instead they appeared to out for a sunday afternoon kick about - apart from Bellamy.

QPR and Norwich have gained promotion through their self belief and the tactics of the manager. Jones has got us to a FA final and play off's so he had done something right. But we always seem to bottle it when its a big game - I think they need to bring in someone that has strategy and nouse to win games. Tony Mowberry yesterday exploited our weaknesses and we thought we only had to turn up.
Stop leaking goals - I think Cardiff have no idea on how to sign a goalkeeper as we have had disasters in goal over the last two years.

It's pretty obviuos that DJ doesn't really do motivational type talks or speeches, that ain't his style. JFH, was being interviewed about DJ's managerial style yesterday, and he didn't really know how to describe it, just kept calling him a calm man, who tells the players to just go out and play their game to the best of their abilities. I did'nt get the feeling that he really rollicks anyone or over praises anyone either. This calming influence, you would think would calm nerves, but on many occassions nerves have got the better of the team, so that doesn't seem to be working, and many times, the team just can't get out of the blocks until well into the game, when it's already lost. We all know what happens now, when we concede first, its now become more than a joke, maybe a complex, as I'm sure that the team are well aware of it, so psychologically, it may have a major bearing on results.
