Shame they didn’t capture this cretin and torture him for weeks on end so he can at least feel some of the pain that families of people his men have murdered have had to go through.

And American actions aided by others since has led to the death of far more innocent civilians...

Yes, us British playing the major role in that let us not forget. I don't agree with invading other countries either, but Ossama Bin Laden was one man we needed wiped off this planet.

NO OF COARSE NOT, it will more than likely get worse!

Man Utd fans will be delighted.

Seriously though all it has done is made him a martyr, it'll make no difference to Al Qaeda. What people forget is that there will be massive & I mean massive retribution, we are all a target for them.

You're damned if you do and damned if you don't in this situation unfortunately.

Many people (mainly victims of 9/11, 7/7, etc) will take comfort in knowing this man is dead.

It won't stop the war on terror - of course not, but it's a big blow to Al Qaeda.

Computer doesn't mean used the internet.

Given the degree to which internet communication can be detected and read, makes more sense for communications out to use other means.

i dont think any mans death was worth so many soldiers and civilians lives! .... we should never have invaded iraq and afghan just to kill one man! ... we should have used our intelligence forces [if they actually exsist] and just picked him off when we knew where he was, cause all we have done is left a trail of carnage and destruction and started something that will NEVER END! .... and for what "osama bin laden" and of course "OIL" ..... also while im at it, people were also celebrating gaddafis sons death yesterday even though it killed 3 of his grandchildren too. if that was the other way around and some muslim extremist killed blairs son and grandchildren there would be public outcry. there seems to me to be one rule for them and another rule for us! ... god this world is truly f**ked up!

And indeed, why "pick him off".

Was Saddam "picked off"? No - the legal route was used.

Yet with Bin Laden, the judicial route was removed in favour of summary execution.

Makes you wonder why.

legal route! ... the invasion of iraq was illegal, so i have my doubts of saddams execution being legal too! ... but you are right about bin ladens death, the whole thing does make me wonder!

Yeah, wasn't on about the invasion, more that ( even though everyone knew what the end result would be ) Saddam went through the Iraqi legal process.
