I knew nigel(wotty)very well, especially watching city in the early 80's.Went to Cambridge away once on a freezing, wet Saturday afternoon and wotty was decked out in all his punk gear.Anyway- he was at the turnstyles argueing with the coppers who were refusing to let him in because some of the gear he was wearing was(by the coppers viewpoint)dangerous and offensive. They took his doctor martin boots off him,a belt with studs and a massive buckle on it,and his leather jacket(also studded). The poor guy was watching city lose, freezing cold,in his socks and t-shirt trying to hold his trousers up all afternoon. He didn't give a f**k though, singing away at the puzzled looking coppers who had tried to make an example of him.Last time I saw him he was in the exchange pub, where on spotting me he dashed over(with his mate rob from llanrumney)and tried to flog a load of dvd's he had in his carrier bag!!!
Wotty was a legend.Glad I watched city in those days, they were the best days and all the lads were the best I've ever met.
