And with the Club flying over to look at f*cking LA Galaxy and bringing in A cartoonist who lives in the states it's only going to go one way further, Malaysian plastic owners with American influence get ready for popcorn sellers , razzmatazz , dancing pom poms and happy clappy dances , cosway advertising boards just the start of the new franchise reveloution to beam back to appease the far east.

Its not just CCFC though is it ?

Top level football has moved in that direction across the board.

I guess we all get on and enjoy (endure ?) the ride or go and watch football further down the pyramid where there is more honesty and less bullshit.

Sadly Steve you are right.

The new stadium has a lot to answer for as does the Riddler regime. I used to love going to Ninian Park-the smell of piss, bovril, stale beer and benson and hedges and the way an atmosphere could suddenley be built with only 3000 people.

I miss turning up and paying on the gate or deciding on saturday morning that i'd travel away to some shithole like Sheffield or Bournemouth.

I guess it is called evolution. My best mate is a man ure fan (from just outside Manchester but now lives in Bath-nearer their fan base) and he used to go all the time but since Glazer and his cash cow he rarely goes.

Last week on the Bank Holiday Monday Salisbury City were playing Chippenham in a local derby. 1000 people were there-the football was of low quality with 100% honest semi pros. I paid at the turnstiles (£14 to stand for me and the 2 boys)and had a great time.

Gareth, again you hit the nail on the head, your have me in tears soon lol lol ..... If only we could turn the clock back lol.

I hate foreign owners myself too, they know f**k all , why don't they develop their own f*cking game instead of leaching and changing ours ? That's to all foreign owners not just here trouble is we know the real answer is simply money.

More fun watching Cowbridge town seniors than plastic franchise football. Can't see it happening too much in the Championship though only here and a few sides that come down and dont go back up.

I agree with you Daya, a few of my mates have walked away and I struggle to bring myself to home games despite being a season ticket. Many fans enjoy the new stadium or dont any better, I grew up on the terraces in the 80's doing away games in transit's paying on the turnstiles, loads of chants and songs now its not the same. Against Leeds I was chanting and singing and a lad around 16 turned around from the row in front and asked would I mind being quieter as I was annoying him!! lol and my fellow season ticket holders hardly break into a clap or chant. Its just not as I used to enjoy it . , Its a heartfelt post and Im with you,

'God help me' - well when Sullivan said he was coming back to bring us to glory, I really though God was helping us.

Anyway you mention your lad, how's his footy going now ?

Dont cry Steve-that'd be too new age.

On Jan 22nd my middle lad is mascot and my mum and dad will be at the ccs along with my 9 month old son, 12 yr old daughter and wife (it'll be mums 1st ever game aged 67 ). My dad got me into ccfc and he was a regular during 70s/80s before illness changed his priorities. His last ccfc game was v Sunderland in 2004 (4-0). I took the Mrs to NP on several occasions and she loved the atmosphere. It'll be interesting to see what they all make of our new arena/facilities.

There was just something special about NP. I know it was a shithole but that place had so many memories (not all good- i had season ticket in days of Durban for a start!).

A lot of it media hype mate

Although he made his move to help City and it was totally refuted as kumar and bob Phillips. Tried in self gain to mug him off.

So instead of blaming him you should focus elsewhere the deal was done and at the last moment they raised the stakes for self gain. That really is a fact mate but of course he was putting in Clive to run the show as he was the big huge city fan and still is today.

You can't blow chances like that when they come along, city did through greedy directors at the time!! So he did have a go but wasn't going to be mugged off for the privilege .

Georgie is fine thanks mate !

Dont know the details of what happned then - no such thing as message boards in those days.

He had plenty of other chances Steve, and the wherewithall to make it work. Maybe he just thought that at the time it wasnt worth the gamble.

What grates with me is that he professes to be a big fan of whichever football club he's interested in at that moment.

He'd never mentioned West ham until he met Gold, yet he was making out he was a lifelong fan. Now, we know Gold is, so why didnt Sullivan just say he was there as his partner, rather than making out he'd spent his childhood at Upton Park. I mean a few weeks beforehand he was on about buying SPURS - not the act of a huge Hammers fan !

To me it looks like Sullivan can see an opportunity there, with the Olympic Village and is prepared to say whats necessary to make another killing (like he did at Brum).

Tim, there were message boards in fact Clive Sullivan posted on CCMB at the time.

I know where your coming from mate - and they can stick the Olympic stadium up their arse if I had my way too.

I don't like new stadiums they are f*cking souless - we've already found that down here!

Yeah, I remeber that now you mention it !

No AAMB though.

With the stadium it could be worse - Upton Park still has a decent atmosphere, I was thinking that when the reporters were there a cuple of weeks ago before the League Cup game I think - it looked imposing and intimidating.
The stipulation which Gold and Sullivan have said they would agree with is that they would keep the running track so that it could be used of Athletics. That would kill the atmsphere completely. Spurs wouldnt have it apparently- and they wanted to build a smaller athletics ground in return, so their bid will be binned.

Possibly the best team I have seen at Cardiff since 1963, a new stadium which has helped to bring crowd levels back up to the levels of the late sixties and early seventies, reduced prices for an FA Cup tie with a Premiership team, one of the best players in last seasons' Premiership playing for us as well as the club's first ever England International - terrible isn't it.,

I remember the 80's. I also remember the 70's and the 60's. If you really look back to the 80's with nostalgia, then you are completely raving bonkers. Almost certainly the worst decade in the club's history [and that includes the 30's].

To 'add weight' to your arguement, you cite the clothing people wear, and hint at the club 'ripping off' the fans -where's the evidence ?

Last Tuesday it was freezing, and pouring with rain. We had 25,000 in our new stadium, and went 2nd in the Championship.

Get real !
