The next 2 games are key. Confidence needs to be restored to manager, players and fans. Results needed and fast i'll take 4 points from next 2.
A Cash injection and new players in january a must.
and what if we lose the next 2 games.

The way things are going we may very well lose all our games going forward. Relegation anyone?

Ofcourse we will. I mean all other clubs dont seem to want to go above us. So its no problem, no need to complain, lets all spend our hard earned money going on long trips to see our team play. It does not matter if they are shit or not because no one wants to jump over us. Happy days.
Tue Dec 28, 2010 11:21 pm
I can't tell if you're saying we're shit in all our games or only those we lose?
Does last saturday qualify as shit?
When was the last game we played well (or not shit) in your eyes and what do you think has changed since then?

7pt lead now by QPR and were left looking like were heading down in to the play offs, Results dont lie, just look at the last 9 results and everyone be honest.

he has failed with the squad he has simples

time to go ! i have sat on the DJ fence for a while now i have been tipped over

I do see the poor form in the last nine games but it seems so up and down rather than constantly down.
I think we all know that we're going to see some great performances coming up but we're irritated and annoyed by the inconsistency.

Baz, the players also seem to be not playing for the manager/team.

But BakedAlasker said in saturday's match report...
"Summing up. A deserved win. Every player out in a shift."

Dont think we have played well at all this season. We have had the couple of dominating games such as Doncaster and Leeds but on the whole I dont think we have been as good as our squad should be.
Personally I put last Saturday down to bad opposition.
Leeds was the last time we played well. I would say the major change has been most sides are now gelling together where we have gone backwards. I put that down to DJ changing his tactics and not knowing how to make the best out of his squad.

I was not there, due to Family first,Coventry were really really poor so I am told, but I was there at Watford today, I also then rang a few Senior people in the club today, I will leave it to Carls update

Why are you judging over 9 games?
Surely we have played more than that?
Why not judge over 21 games or 46 games?
No what the hell, you are only as good as your last game.
Every time we lose a game, call for the manager's head.
I am glad we are not third or seventh or 21st or 22nd or 23rd or 24th.
Is there any point in going to the next game?

spike ferndale wrote:Why are you judging over 9 games?
Because its a good reflection of how we are playing NOW not a while ago. If we continue to play like we are NOW we will start sliding down the table.
Tue Dec 28, 2010 11:52 pm
The remour that players aren't playing for the manager/team is bad news.
Further to BakedAlasker's point abut paying good money to see our team, the players should remember that they should be playing for us.

It's just there in black and white there isn't it, and on current performances it will continue. Naylor, a player DJ signed for both Wolves and ourselves without realising his defensive liabilities until he subbed him on the 37th minute today, plus telling Olifinjana to play as a box to box/advanced midfielder should cost him his job in my opinion. The number of times there was a gap behind Olofinjana when he made forward runs, making a big gaping hole to run at the likes of Darcy Blake (who has been pissed since Christmas Eve, and that showed) was embarrasing! No control over his players, time to step aside DJ, you can't take us an further!

VT made the decision months ago 'not to rock the boat' and give DJ control of the club on a day to day basis. So we are at halfway point in the season (most others are over halfway ) and we are 2nd in the league.
Admittedly results have not been good enough of late ( and people can bring up 9 games if they wish ) but I tend to look at the results overall and they tell me we are the 2nd best team on form over the course of the season so far.
So in answer to your question, yes I would entrust our manager with money to spend cause so far he has not been given a penny in transfer fees to spend.
Wed Dec 29, 2010 11:16 am
Well if Gus Poyet was to be our manager (he wouldn't be my choice by the way but better than what we have at the moment

) and he said what do you know about football you haven't played at the highest level? then it may carry some weight as he has won a fair few medals in an injury blighted career and has been pretty successful so far as a coach and manager.
Let's list them
As a player:-
Copa del rey with real Zaeragoza 1994
European Cup Winners Cup with Real Zaragoza 1995
European Cup Winners Cup with Chelsea 1998
UEFA Super Cup Chelsea 1998
FA Cup Winners Chelsea 2000
Copa Americas Winner Uruguay 1995
As a Coach/Assistant manager
Carling Cup Winner Tottenham Hotspur 2008
Compare that with Dave Jones medals
As a player:-
Diddly Squat
As a Manager
Division 2 runner up Stockport County 1997 (promoted)
Division 1 play off winner Wolves2003 (promoted) - duly relegated the following season

He may not have spent much in transfer fees Carl however do you have any idea how much he has spent in Loan Fees, agents fees, scouting fees, legal fees and wages (including all bonuses) for all his transfers. As Steve Davies said earlier in another thread wages on the three Amigos (Fowler, Sinclair and JFH) alone were at least £50,000.00 per week (by my reckoning thats £2.6 million per annum) not including bonuses. When you add on the fees and wages for all the other duds he has bought (and some good players), a new stadium, a state of the art training facility at the Vale and now an indoor training facility in the House of Sport I feel he has been given all the resources any good manager would need to attain promotion to the Premier League. Sorry but in my view he has been an abject failure and I wouldn't trust him with a penny of my money if I held the purse strings.

Another 9 results like we have just had and we will be in the bottom half of the table.
I just can not see us getting Automatic Promotion with DJ. However we would be the laughing stock of football if we never went up after sacked DJ while we were second in the league.
Wed Dec 29, 2010 11:35 am
Totally agree Carl. Football is all about the points and positions. If someone said to us we'd be 2nd going into 2011, no-one would turn their noses up. Gaining promotion is never a sleigh ride and the bad runs do come. We'll sort it and it will come with the Malaysians backing Dave Jones.

Again, because we are 2nd, managers may be sacked in the Premiership, but do you think one of the top 4 currently in the Champions League places will change their manager, even Man City?
taffyapple wrote:Remember... even if we go up we will owe Jones another £2m in bonuses.
Pittance, if we go up, we can even afford to give him an extra £800k, get rid and start the Prem with a new manager.
taffyapple wrote:Sack him now, he's failing. Give the players a lift. We desperately need promotion this

How do you know it will give the players a lift, when a new boss comes in there is usually a period of uncertainty.
I psychology circles, it's called Norming, Storming and Forming. Getting to forming is not always an easy process.
Wayne I like the point you're trying to make but you've got it arse backwards! It's forming, storming, norming then performing.

Carl, the Malaysians are business men, very good ones at that. They are not going to give money to someone who might waste it. I would say at this moment that is what they think DJ will do. Just look at what is happening now after all the support they have given him so far.
To be fair Ian, Carl has a really good point. I have lost all confidence in DJ but I don't think he is going to go, and if what Carl has said is true and he has reached the target the Malaysians have set him then they should stick to their word and give him the funds they promised.
