It's no big deal Jonesy praising loyal, passionate fans, it should be a normal practice for this to happen. Us the supporters will still be here when Jonesy, Bothroyd, VT, et al have all departed for pastures anew, we shouldn't have to call for the players to come over to us and applaud, it should be a matter of the players/manager doing what's right, we've applauded their good moves and plays on the pitch, we've chanted their names, the least we should expect is a little recognition of our support at the end of the game, not too much to ask is it? Or is it?!

Do you go to Away games ? If So when was the last time you Saw DJ Clap the Fans and when Was the Last Time you Saw the players Come right Over to Us at an away game to THANK US FOR OUR SUPPORT ?

He could do more, but maybe he has taken note of recent message board and radio criticism ???

It seems that a lot of our fans consider DJ devoid of passion and to be a right old misery guts i personally think that DJ is very guarded about what he says how he says it and who he says it to. I think this stems from his time at Southampton and the false accusations of child abuse he suffered and i would encourage anyone to read his book to understand why Dave Jones always seems very sullen and defensive when asked questions.

I have recently met DJ at the centenary dinner and found him very approachable in good humour and talking to him his determination and passion to get us promotion this season shone through. I also have a mate who is a painter and decorator and during last summer he did work for DJ in his house down the Vale and he found DJ to be quite a character with a wicked sense of humour and this guy hardly knew who DJ was because he's a right egger :(

However i think DJ finds it hard to display his emotions and his real character in public and thus the fans find it difficult to warm to him. With regards to the players not applauding the fans at away games i think that is appalling but I don't think that can really be blamed on DJ as each player could take it upon themselves to walk over to the away fans and show their appreciation for our outstanding support. :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :old:

im not trying to p1ss on your chips here Annis but in my opinion everything said above is 100% true. some people just cant handle brutal honesty

sure he could be a bit more animated, but he never ever has at any of the clubs he has managed, so why should he change now?? i certainly dont expect to see that changing anytime soon. but blaming a lack of atmoshphere on that is plain daft. (i know that wasnt you btw) there should be a decent one regardless of who does what, that is the fans responsibility.

gaffer & players applauding the fans after the game well thats a different matter altogether. the players should take a look at how the players in the bundesliga operate. they do it after every game win lose or draw. but its a widespread thing, not just at Cardiff.

any way, regardless of wether this appreciation now was done with a gun to his head or his own idea, this is a start and it should be appreciated in return. the guy gets slated from all angles so when he does do something right in the supporters eyes its only fair to give credit where its due.

just because his personality doesnt suit some then he is given a bad ride and a lot of 'chines' whispers started about him.

hope he is given to the end of season

Rubbish, after travelling to the Middlesborough game I never saw him applaud us and he didn't even send the players over to applaud us either, in fact only Bellamy gave us a small clap after the game. Another thing that cheeses me off is when we ask him to do the Ayatollah, why do we have to nag him several times only for him to give a token Ayatollah in return. Dave should be embracing this celebration as I am sure that if he put more effort into it then he would get a bigger cheer from us all.

You can't just thank the fans in one breath, when in the other you're criticising them for their expectations, or pissing on their history.

The thing about expectations in the second interview irks me. Like it or not, City wouldn't have erupted from the bottom division without expectations being held by the fans. That's what makes this club different to the others of that league back then - the fans WERE NOT WILLING TO ACCEPT SECOND BEST. At least not in terms of effort. Despite all that has happened, the supporters expectations have kept the club cohesive. I don't believe for one second the DJ cares about supporters, and to paraphrase one of biggwynrams jokes, DJ Must have given this interview after being run over by a grit van, because I can tell it was throught gritted teeth
