From Tomorrow The Police Will be STOPPING People in Cars Who are Driving With SNOW on the Roof of Their Cars, Due to The Hazard it Can Cause and is Dangerous, According to Them.
You Will Be Issued With a FIXED PENALY of £60 and 3 Pts, They Will Then Tell you its In The Highway Code and You Should Know that.

Doesn't it aid traction in the snow??

It's already happened elsewhere in the country....after some fell off and hit a police car!!

No sense of humour, some coppers!!

On a serious note, it is fecking dangerous and people should take a moment to ensure their vehicle is roadworthy for their OWN sake, as well as those around them....

Its completely fair enough.

A huge block of frozen snow flew off a bus roof a fortnight ago and hit my windscreen when I was driving down the A470.

How it didnt shatter the windscreen I'll never know.

Imagine a big block of frozen snow flying off a car roof at 30mph and hitting a small child...it doesnt bear thinking about.

They've been saying this for the last few years but I've yet to hear of anyone who has been done for it.

If they want to prevent accidents maybe they can fine the councils who don't clear the roads, that's a bigger danger.

there is every car here with at least 6" snow on their cars here. Police don´t give a fcuk here.......as long as you have winter tyres or all weather tyres on your car....they don´t even clear their windows , lights nothing here....when it snows i get a taxi...it is safer than walking lol

IF STOPPED AND NON OF IT HAD FALLEN OFF , SO TELL THEM I WAS DELIVERING IT (WITH A SMILE.)

Top post. I pay 123quid a month in council tax to get my bins emptied once a fortnight and recycling done fortnightly. Those idle bastards in county hall need to get off their arses and clear my roads and pavements.
