There are a lot of people, like myself, who due to working comitments are unable to attend a lot of games [i'm missing Saturday's game], but i take your point. This has always been the case, & a problem at City. I will give a few examples;
Season 1960/61 home game Spurs on 11March att 45463, next home v Blackpool att 19754.
Season 75/76 v Hereford 35501, next v Swindon 23412.
There are many more examples, streaching over the decades, of City fans filling NP for the "big games" but then dissapearing there after. Also, i think the phrase "big club" can only ever be earned by playing regular top flight football, something Cardiff City have not done since the 1961/2 season.

at the moment there is a couple of reasonswhy people arent going
1.the team are performing so poorly, why would people in theese hard times maybe spend there last £25 watching a team that look they dont care
2.the weather is shockingly cold and this puts many peole off
combine the 2 and youve got the perfect reciepe for an armchair fan
and on the point of season ticket holders not turning up,i wonder how many of theese empty seats are children, when in N.P going into F.A.cup and pushing hard for promotion i now people were buying children season tickets at £10 to guarantee extra tickets for big games, and that did p@ss me off, because people were getting tickets for big games and selling at a profit.
anyway annis you are right sod em.......

thats spot on annis, a few times this season when me or the lads have had to work or had a wedding and we have been home against the not so glamourous sides in the division, we have been unable to give our season tickets away due to a long list of excuses , but come the jacks ( never glamourous in a million years) , leeds etc etc etc they we get texts emails, meeages on face book all begging for a ticket!!!! just imagine what it would be like next season if we do manage to go up!!!!!!

An elderly friend has a concession season ticket, because he has severe arthritis he picks and chooses his games according to the weather. He gave his season ticket card to my daughter’s partner last home game. Anyway, the ticket Taliban watching the lights on the turnstiles stopped him and confiscated the card because he didn’t look old enough for a concession season ticket. The card owner has been told he can only get his card back if he pays the extra £15 for a normal ticket. Apparently if he cannot attend games he has to inform the ticket office so they can resell the seat.

OK if games are a sell out it is profiteering by CCFC but surely it would be better having someone sitting in the seat and possibly spending money at the stadium rather than an empty seat !!

Having said that though if it’s not spent in the club shop any spend goes to Compass.

That’s one reason for empty season ticket holder seats.

I don't think it is fair or right to question who attends the matches.
Its a personal choice.
Some go regardless, and others go when it suits them - what's the problem?
It is natural someone may prefer to see City play Leeds than Preston.
BUT the real reason is this (and aploogies if someone has already stated the obvious in this thread somewhere).
The club sold 000's of ST's last season on the basis that they may have been seeing PL football for free.
I know people who bought one and don't go because they are not in the PL, or will go to only certain Championship games.
Some of these have no interest in seeing every game at this level, just took a gamble.
So what? It happens at Man U every week. I went to OT last season on a midweek night as someone gave me their seaosn tickets for the night. There were literally 00's of empty seats visible in the ground yet it was announced as capacity attendance.

Can only speak for myself but there is so much negativity surrounding every aspect of the club at the moment, and when you read it from what you see as diehard fans then that is all the excuse you need to" give this one a miss".Perils of having an open and honest messageboard i guess.

Preston Home including the few thousand Season ticket holders who did not turn up, WE WERE AT LEAST 7,000 Fans down on Previous games, Same will happen v BURNLEY Home.
My Daughters Dont go much Nowadays, (They Dont like the Stadium and No Atmosphere), So I upgrade them Now and Preston Home/Burnley Home I text everyone if they wanted them for half Price, NO ONE WANTED THEM lol
I WONDER WHY ?
