Danny Says wrote:Apart from the late goal versus swansea last season, and the penalty shoot out finale versus Leicester and I suppose the late winner v Millwall this season, each goal is greeted with standing up, and doing what one can in a small cramped space to avoid breaking limbs, scraping legs on backs of the seats etc.......none of the random leaping around, hugging strangers and gasping for air like it used to be pre Legopack stadiums.

Think the last time I was able to celebrate wildly was in NP after the late penalty versus swansea in the standing bit of the BB.

I tried this against preston, but this absolute wanker told me to "f**k off, I havent seen any of the match with you two standing". Pains me to say it, but we have so many pricks in our midst at ccs.

For me the Years 92 and 93 were the best times, still getting in for 'half', always bouncing around the bob bank, before the seating, big surges down when we scored or anything happend.

That night brings back some great memories.

I can remember all the boys calling round to my house (parents) about 8 in the morning, all drinking beer in my front garden. Anyway to cut a long story short, we carried on drinking all day in town and abducted a guitar playing busker. We took him to the Albert and got him a train ticket to come to Swansea with us. We had him play city songs all the way while we sang. Really crazy good times. :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

My favourite time as a City fan too as it was the first time where we were challenging!

But the best ever goal celebration for me was when Chops scored at Chelsea last season. It was mayhem for what seemed a good 10 minutes! Away goals are always better!

I'm lucky at CCS coz I sit on the aisle so can go mad and me and my mates do but most are stand up clap and sit again these days. It's gonna take our new fans a while to realise it compulsory to be a head case.

It'll come good! :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

Was it because it was easier to let your inhibitions run wild in those dark, cramped terraces or is it just the passion is'nt so intense overall these days? That was just a Welsh cup game & you can see what it mean't to the City fans.I can remember watching the highlights after coming home from the game & spotting myself in the crowd jumping about after Pikey's goal like a madman, these days it's just a stand up from your seat applaud the goal & sit back down.OK we're older now & it would look a bit mad jumping about like a lunatic but you rarely see the youngsters celebrating like that these days.Has the game become too sanitised & comfortable that the raw edge has been lost? Watch the players after Pikeys goal & you can see a connection between fan & player, today they come across & point to their name on the back of their shirt, enough said.

A fan in them days had more room to manouver(no tripping over seats).............I used to love the pile downs! :old:

I preferred it when we were beating Man U 3-0 and Spurs 4-2.
I was a 10 year old kid in the Grange end.
Most of you have not, and may never experience occasions like it.

actually i think it was 3-2 against Spurs.
A couple of seasons before I witnessed Graham Moore fire us to the promised land.
City 1[Moore]Villa 0.
