Give Sam a second chance everybody before passing judgement, he started this roller coaster to the edge of the premiership. He held his hand up and said he made big mistakes but that was down to being more passionate than sensible with the the financial side of things. I would welcome him back, it doesnt seem to long ago I was stood on my own in a sparse crowd for my first City game against Torquay, it was soon after he came along and the mad ride started!! Everybody deserves a second chance God knows I have had a few!!

Regarding Jay its gutting news thus far, but the guy is hot property nationwide at the mo, we have got to find out what its going to take to keep him here and get heavy on the negotiations, if he wont sign keep him until the summer.
He might resign then if we go up!!

I would not want Sam back now, I would thank him for the Academy and the start he gave us but that is it we must move on he is too volatile and mad with the clubs money !!! Let's be honest it would never work, he and VT sound almost complete opposites with regards the running of a football club ???

Give Jay the contract he fully deserves (best player I've ever seen in a Cardiff shirt) and give Sam a place on the board if its more financially viable, just don't give him any budgets.

If the debt is finally gone then Sam coming is not a problem to me I remember what he started here and like it or not He started all the good things that has happened to City I thought he was treated badly by Ridsdale and the council a total set up to get rid of him and I have doubts what was said about him after all it all came from Ridsdale why would I believe Ridsdale when all he did was lie to me as a supporter Sam Hamman never lied if anything he was to honest with the supporters.

I think Dave Jones will not be happy with Sam returning but at the moment after sundays crap Dave Jones is not my favourite person I just hope he can lift the team and beat Reading and get back to top of the table.

Maybe Chopra should be focussing more on playing for the team in whatever position the MANAGER plays him, instead of ringing media/people up after the game mouthing off his discontent??

If Jay won't sign lets try to keep him until next summer. The main problem is if a Premier club comes in for him in January offering £25,000 a week. That adds up to a lot of money over half a season and it is difficult to see him trying his hardest for us if we don't let him go in those circumstances.

If still here next summer and we get promoted he'll certainly sign!

As far as Sam is concerned, we have to assume that the Malaysians know what they are doing and to keep the faith - they have constantly delivered so far. I also think they will finance the Jay deal if necessary.

I would welcome Sam back...2 reasons

1) his enthusiasm

2) it'll save us a LOT of money

Great update Carl. Sorry to hear about Warren please pass on our best wishes. Glad to hear what this club means to Bellers. Also glad to hear Chops speak out. And to hear that Jones really didn't want to loose on Sunday even though he messed up it was refreshing to know he was hurt and privately he knew he messed up. That really is good to hear and that's not a criticism of DJ he has gone up in my estimation. Yes he really did f**k up but that now could go in our favour like an injured Boxer he is now at his most dangerous, lets hope so hey. As for Jay I'm not to worried if the club wants to keep him to the end of the season they can and if we get to the Prem he would have extra bargaining power to get an even better contract. But as i said before it is only this season he has hit this form and just because he has played a dozen games with this form that's not good enough to be asking for obscene wages. If he continues all season then he would of earnt it, until then i kind of agree with the clubs stance

I really hope the club reconsiders jays contract offer as he is an integral part of our promotion push.
Im gutted that Craig and kev aint going to make the Reading trip but hopefully we will be able to take all 3 points from that match knowing that QPR slipped up with a 1-1 draw tonight and send us back to the top of the league.
By the sounds of it DJ knows he messed up on sat so therefore he owes the fans and the players nothing but a win tomorrow night.

A couple of points:

- I wouldn't expect CB to play tomorrow as his Physio has made it clear since he joined that 1 game per week was the limit and DJ seems to have gone along with this

- Bothroyd, we bought him in for £250/350K to seeing him go for nothing at the end of the season would not be a big loss in monetary terms. I would be quite happy for him to 'do a Ledley' ie stay to the end of the season, if no promotion then go, after all if we can't make it this season why should he believe we can the next?

Jay is not stupid and he will wait until later in the season to see what happens, If I was him and for example was playing for Wolves I would keep my opinions open as well, wouldnt you?

I only seen the game on TV sunday and havent read or listened to any media since the game but Jones clearly got it very wrong Sunday and I think he knows that, would he say it publicly? no of course not he is the manager and the leader of the team IMO he shouldnt show weakness and say he was wrong even if he thinks it. Thats my personal opinion of managers in general and always has been.

With regards to Sam my head is lost, I liked him as a person but I dont really want him back. Im reading the towards the end of shattered dreams to Wembley way now and im just not sure we really need that type of character back but then again I trust TG and VT to do the right thing.

personaly i would love to see sam back he may have got us into debt but he had a dream he was chasing and i believe he does love ccfc ,i think the malaysians are a bit more shrewd and wont let the club get into that kind of debt again.

as for jay was expecting that with prem clubs chasing him he could pick up a much bigger wage than he is currently on. i'd rather we keep him til the end of the season and risk losing him for nothing if it means us getting to prem.

great update as always Carl and best wishes to Feeney for a speedy recovery as no fan wants to see any footballer with a long term injury . So what do you know about the Langston options to consider asking us supporters if we would welcome back Sam or not ? If its for a purely business and money saving reason ( ie a seat on the board allows £10 mil for new player investement ) then the answer has to be YES ....... or for a reduced payment then maybe but what else would he bring to CCFC and what , again , would he expect back in return or indeed if he left then what would he demand this time ??

Up to the board I guess now but personally Im 50/50 and it wouldnt put me up nor down either way ......... the Bothroyd situation is being well played out by CCFC coz why offer him a tasty 3 yr contract if we again fail to get promoted yet he is then on a huge wage at Championship level ? Its a funny situation at the mo with him and if a stupid over inflated offer comes in for him in the Jan window then I feel that CCFC will take it ............. why not stick with the offer he's been given BUT have a re-negotiation option open if and when we get promoted in May , but saying that then that would piss off the other players who have recently signed !! Interesting really .

As for the Reading game then Bellamy is due a rest which allows Burke to start and if Olli is out too then Id play Whitts centre MF and play Koumas on the left with the option of swapping during the course of the night , as for the other changes in defence then its like for like . On the same note what's happening with Riggot and is he a City player and does he have a contract yet ?????

Great Update Carl and the Bothroyd situation doesn't surprise me Jay wants Premiership football (And hopefully so do the rest of the squad) so he is not going to sign a 3 year contract that gives him Championship wages.

With regard to Sam coming back i would say no but what if Sam coming back meant that the amount payable to Langston was reduced to 5m thus saving 5m which could be used to finance a new contract for Jay plus bring an additional player in. In those circumstances as long as Sam had absolutely nothing to do with finances then i would have him back let him oversee the academy and perhaps scout for new talent.

So if the choice was 5m wiped off the debt which was used to keep Jay and part finance other players coming in what would you do?

Good update Carl. For what it's worth, I'd rather see Jay, Whittingham, Mathews, Mcnaughton etc all sold if it meant the club were able to prevent Hammam ever having another influence in the running of our club.

In the forthcoming weeks can you, Annis, Gwyn et al please try and reign yourself in and avoid trying to put a 'positive spin' on his possible return. Coz when you all do it, it stinks to high heaven.

I was just about to second this, as I don't think Sam should be allowed to string along some of our supporters as he has done in the past any longer. But I then realised that for the sake of reducing the already farcical debt to the magical Langstone, it might be excellent business to give Sam some imaginary and worthless place within the club. Let's face it, he's going to be pissing in the wind if he thinks he can influence real business guys like TG and VT - not to mention his published 'wealth' is peanuts compared to the new owners.

I say let them negotiate, give Sam a title of something like 'Footballing Expansionism Technician' or similar, and reduce the loan notes to next to nothing. The title can always be withdrawn when the Malaysians get fed up of him.

The return of SH would entirely depend on what he did within the club.

If he takes £5mil in full anmd final settlement and has a position as director with no control over financial matters and has to report any proposed financial dealing before it happens to VT/TG then it could be money well saved. His involvement could be strictly limited to players contracts (give DJ more time to concentrate on the team), commercial activities etc.

If he was on a very tight reign, then only, would I be happy........but would he always want more !!!
