Swansea have had a brilliant window and seem to be really going for it this season , they won't be far off come may , but thats what you get when you have ambitious owners whilst were stuck with our clowns

Still hoping we get a couple in before the window closes but im pretty frustrated of how slow we are to act when we have such a good manager and talented young squad , 3 quality signing would be the difference between a decent mid table season and a potential top 10 finish

That makes about 6 wingers in two seasons for them! They turnover of players is remarkable.... yes expect them to be near top 8 but replacing good players every season is not way to progress long term... ... if we get in the decent players we need we won't be far behind them without spending millions doing it..

Not sure about this - I don't think BBM would go for a permanent solution to a temporary problem. Plus, with his size, he will be filling a gap of the physical defender and maybe set piece danger that we were needing.

I don' t suppose bbm was going to say any different ,telling the lad you are a stop gap would not have been very nice but tgat is precisely why he was signed like I said if we gad almost 4 defenders fit he eould not be here.

Would he have been been signed if all 4 centre back where fit .no that's where the stop gap comes in but if you are going to have a stop gap get one who can keep his place so it made sense to sign a perminant .

I'm not sure whether Fish (when fit) or Chambers are strong enough defensively for the Championship so regardless of our injury crisis it did make sense to buy a tried and trusted centre half.

My CD depth Chart

1- Lawlor
2- Bielek
3- Fish
4- Osho
5- Chambers

BBM would probably swap 3 and 4, but all fit, not fatigued or banned, and IMO it will be Lawlor & Bielek.

If you wrote down what BBM would want from a centre half and it would be a ball-playing 6'2", experienced guy to bring Lawlor along.

Drammeh would be perfect for this system and allow Kpackio to have a season on loan

I want us to do business, think we need at least two but maybe three. That said, confident we won't get relegated anyway.

I want the window to close so we can focus on matches instead of transfers.

I also believe BBM when he says he was a target for a while. BBM will have known some time ago that Fish and Lawlor would be out for the start of the season and he'll have been looking for cover at number 6 also so Bielik fits the bill well.

Who are these mystery posters that don't think we need to do any business because I'm having trouble finding anyone who has said that.
Wanting the window to close is a different matter, I'm sure most want it to close having done the business we need to so that we can all get on with discussing the football.

The thread has been put up for us to discuss the final 48 hours so that's what we are doing between us fans ,and I am certainly not telling anyone not to have a say or don' t say anything wait and see.

,To me after the event would not be worth discussing as we all know the outcome then.

I'm more worried that when the window closes we haven't managed to do the business we need to having had so long to get that business done.

Still, at the moment, hope springs eternal ( until 11pm tomorrow anyway!)

My argument is you have more knowledge to discuss the squad after the window has closed, because we know what we've got then.

It's not like a few random fans discussing stuff on a forum are going to influence BBM or the club. We're not that important.

I really like Bielek and happy he is here. We need his size and experience.

However, WBA effectively gave him away to us. No transfer fee, he seemed surplus to requirements and we just stepped in and agreed to take on his contract. Surely this would have been the sort of signing we could/should have made right at the start of pre-season rather than in the final week of the window (if he was a long term target and all).

Either way, just 2 new faces then in 4 months is poor. Hope these next 30 odd hours come good!

The 2mill+ was made up of salary and a signing on fee.

The fact that the clubs both said there was a fee, local journalists in the Midlands said there was a fee and BBM suggesting we paid money for him makes me believe there was a fee.
