With that in mind, what I personally find interesting is what BBM chooses to say publicly. He’s a diplomat and has been since the start, he also very intentionally recognises board members publicly. So his sentiment today, I wonder if that’s an intentional public show of frustration from him where he’s applying pressure to get the signings moving.
Based on what was made public last year about him ripping up the transfer profiles the club had lined up, it’s possible he’s had easier targets come across his desk that he’s rejected in pursuit of those bigger names, the Dahl’s of the world..
That 6 position must be a sticking point for him, seeing as the news coming through Glen and others is that he has a specific profile intended for that role, which Robertson largely doesn’t match. (The physical attributes being taller than 6 foot, strong and technically excellent, like Rodri). If when we come to September, we haven’t strengthened across the squad.. it’ll be interesting to see what BBM does if a bigger club comes knocking. So let’s hope there’s serious investment between now and September!
What confuses me, is that Daland is on the books, but has been loaned out even though we knew the CB situation.
Some good points there.
In that quote are we seeing the first signs of frustration from the manager?
Just my opinion of course but I think he's given a list of what he wants to the hierarchy but for one reason or another they've been unable to provide him with what he needs.
BBM is no fool - he knows that if we go into the season as we are it's going to be a relegation battle from day one.
I really hope I'm wrong but so far I can't help thinking that the manager is being somewhat let down by those running the club and their inability to stregnthen the squad in the many areas that are vital at this time.
Some good points, but BBM not exactly helping himself here, I think.

I wouldn't try and read between the lines of what he says when it comes to transfers because it's impossible.

How?
By getting us promoted when people on here unfairly wrote him off as soon as he arrived? Before you say it was League One, the other two relegated teams didn't even make play-offs.
By only wanting to sign the right players and waiting if necessary?
By not wanting to stockpile the squad like we have in the past? Something that led to us being stuck with players and had a hand in our relegation.
There are three weeks to go until the window shuts and I hope those that have lost their minds this summer admit they reacted way too impatiently.
But they won't because they don't have the level of humility required to admit they were wrong.

If by the end of the window we've signed Kellyman on loan and at least three other high quality players I will be absolutely delighted.
Anything less than that, especially given the current injury situation and I will be extremely disappointed.

But what isn't fair is the way people are acting right now. They're acting in an entitled way because they can't show patience. Makes me embarrassed of our fans to be honest.

The window isn't shut so signings must be on their way (please FGS) but didn't you expect us to be way further along that we are currently? I genuinely expected us to have 3 or 4 signings in by now (most of whom would have had some sort of pre-season with us). I then expected a loany youngster or 2 to complete the squad b4 the window shuts. But no...our squad is weaker than when we finished league 1, we have injuries, staff positions to fill. It's really not great is it. It's actually pretty pi$$ poor!
So just let us vent man coz we need too. The club needs to know we ain't happy.

You mention staff positions. Glen Williams has said the new GK coach from Man City is just waiting for the paperwork (for the record I normally believe him). The others are academy positions and someone to work with Gibbins. These are important positions but they are also things we can cope without for the time being.

Get real man, come on.
Because they are throwing a massive strop about it. If the club listened to them we'd have a 50 man squad and would also be in administration. It's pathetic.
You can say "bla bla bla" all you want but it's a fact that there are three weeks to go. It needs repeating because too many people are acting like it closes when the Wrexham game starts.
I know people like Monty want us all to be miserable all the time about the club and are using this opportunity to push it.
But it's not complicated is it? A squad is sorted over a transfer window. Not up until the first game of the season.
Look at last season. If our squad was what it was going into the first game then we'd have gone through the season with no Trott, no Kellyman, no Osho. Sort of proves my point.
I can't tell if people are so dense they can't see that or if they're just being downbeat about the club for the sake of it. We know these people prefer being downbeat about the club than us winning a game or doing well.
Such a sad mindset these people have.

Why on earth do you think our fans are embarrassing? Why are we entitled? I think our fans have been very patient considering our last game last season was at the end of April...and let's not forget we got relegated the year before.
We've had a great reset so surely you can see why we all expected soooooo much more up to this point.
I know the window isn't shut yet and there are 3 weeks to go bla bla bla (lost count how many times you've repeated that - like a broken bl00dy record) but don't you think we've got the right to get twitchy and impatient now?
Ned blaming me all the time won' t get you out of the whole you dig for yourself , just give it a rest,
i am a long way from what you accuse me of being perhaps move onto someone else as you are getting on my nerves and always been abusive with your language and blaming me for nearly everything.
If you want to have a meet up in person, and you will see I am not the miserable person you keep going on about on the forum so I am asking you please to give it a rest.

So positive or negative viewpoints are all at best, guess work.
That's fair, that's obviously what you think we need. And it's always right to only judge it at the end of the window.

I'm not digging myself a hole at all. If I'm wrong then I always own up, unlike others such as you. I am still waiting for all those people who wrote off BBM last year to admit they were wrong.
I don't care if I'm getting on your nerves. You get on my nerves for constantly running the club down. It's either complaining about transfers, segregation, crowds, stadium seating plan etc and it's constant. I am not the only person who thinks that either.
I'm certain that there are people who find me annoying on here and I can acknowledge that and why, fair enough. But the fact you can't even see (or just deny) how downbeat about the club your posts always are speaks volumes.
So whilst you carry on making out everything is terrible and trying to depress everyone, I'll continue making the counter argument in the way I do.

Anyway, before we try and get back to the football coz this thread is going on a bit. Monty....please dont listen to this guy. I dont know you but you come across as a good, sincere, genuine bloke who clearly loves Cardiff City and always means well. This forum is better and definitely more balanced with you in it for sure.
Im not surprised you've lashed out a bit today coz Worcester goes out of his way on a daily basis to wind you up and belittle you at every turn. Sometimes its subtle, sometimes its not, but its constant, like a dripping tap and its obviously quite personal.
Just ignore him (even though it's hard) and carry on doing what you're doing.

Just like Monty has gone for me personally before. It was relentless and not just to me. But he can't handle it when it's the other way around.
For clarity, I don't have an ego. If most people didn't want me on this forum then I'd happily leave, but that's not the case. I know that a lot of people believe I talk sense.
You tell him to carry on what he's doing. I'll carry on doing what I'm doing - providing a counter argument and moderating this forum along with Forever Blue, Sven, Igovernor and Top Cat.
I'll let you or him have the last word if you want, as you both seem so obsessed with that.

Well, Scanlon in today, so progress.
But also another backroom staff gone, so no analysts 4 days before 1st game.
