You can see the financial temptation, but it’s a high risk move. So many kids move to elite academies, get lost in the system, and lose their motivation when the pathway to the first team vanishes.

Compare that to Lawlor, who stayed in a supportive environment, earned proper men's minutes, and built real momentum. If you back yourself to break into senior football early at Cardiff, you aren't waiting until age 55 for a payout; Lawlor could easily be earning a million a year in the not too distant future.




He's got just over a year probably in academy before he goes up to higher age group? It's a strange move gor arsenal considering he's not long term academy project...have they seen real potential in him that may mean get elevated quickly to 1st team squad? Or as people suspect he'll float around loan clubs for years!
