Well BBM chose everything this season.

We need strengthening and at least 5.

Desperately

I’m going to Cork and thankfully they are 2nd division in Ireland and the first is utter crap

Definitely need strengthening.

One thing is that our players only just got back, they are ready for a European match.

Even a non-league side can look better if they are just fitter.

Let’s hope we see better next.

We need a 6 - that’s the biggest priority. Another 4-5 additional players too.

Weaker sqaud than 2 months ago - No Wintle and Kellyman
1st game of the pre-season
2 starters nowhere near sqaud (Rubin & Trott)
A better team than us if fully fit
They are fully fit

A great wake-up call. We need at least 4 starters to compete in this season's championship and move on two or three if we can

I don’t think losing 6-0 in any circumstance is a worth while exercise, friendly or not. These are supposed to be professional sportsmen who take pride in themselves and playing for the club.

I haven’t seen the game but by all accounts there was no fight or passion shown and hardly any positive’s. The Championship is going to be a really tough league this season with the teams in it. We need players who are going to stand up to the challenge when things aren’t going our way and my biggest concern is that we haven’t got those players

They are virtually all our Squad players for this season.

This shows we need some good signings, thankfully we can all see it very early on.

Yes embarrassing

Sometimes the opposition is just better. They play at a much higher quality than us and have better players. Is what it is. Nothing for people to cry over.

Is is something to cry about are this team better than any team in the championship if they are then we really need to spend some money on quality if we are to compete in the championship ,
Remember bbm has not been near the championship this is his 2nd season as a manager he needs to get this right,Cork next, glad I am not going.

There are people saying it's only a friendly and normally I'd agree.

Would have accepted 3-0 against a team like Midtjylland.

But 6-0 at home, that is just not good enough sorry.

Its a disgrace whatever the apologists want to say. If it was just a little warm up for us and we weren't taking it seriously , what the hell were the club charging £19 on the day. :banghead:

I don't know why anyone is surprised. The only reason we didn't ship goals to this extent last season was because we averaged 63.1% possession. We still had a fair few hidings mind!

Our problem playing stronger teams next season is we won't have so much possession, meaning we will have to do more defending, but we can't defend.

We really need most if not all of our players in before the season starts rather than by the end of the window.

A poor start could leave us struggling to catch up. Remember what happened when Bulut led us to our worst ever start?

We need players and if we're to bed them in before the start of the season we need them in quickly not on the last day of the transfer window.

The Danish League is championship standard. A couple of decent sides- and they are probably one of these- but nothing to trouble an average Premier League. We are a championship side and should be able to compete with a side of this standard. 6-0 at home! No excuse. We are either not enough or we didn't bother. If the latter the admission money should be refunded.

You will be ticked off by the usual if you make a song and dance on this game ,but surely 6 nil cruising and foit of the gas it could have been 10 nil be good to hear what bbm thought of it a d its all very quite from the usual who slate you if you say anything negative.

Re: Cardiff City’s 1st Home Friendly of the Season ended EMB

I watched the game and it seems that the players were obviously not yet fit enough and were up against quality players that they would not have encountered last season. Their team were at a more advance stage of the pre-season and it was evident. I think BBM made a mistake to arrange this type of fixture so early in the pre season while using many inexperienced youngsters. It could knock player's confidence. The scope for learning from mistakes from this game is limited in my view - because it was such a mismatch.

I have been relaxed about transfers and said I'm happy to wait until the end of the window. I still think that's the case with one or two PL loans we're waiting on.

But your point about needing something sooner rather than later is valid and is one I actually now share after today.

Embarrassing result but glad the players, and more importantly BBM, faced that today...gives them and him a big wake up call. Granted the players only starting doing some ball work this week, but they are way off the pace and need to shape up quickly. The opposition were possibly comparable to a top half championship side maybe so lots and lots of work to do over the coming weeks.

We all know this squad (practically everyone of them) have been guilty of complacency before based on the relegation season. Let's hope BBM trains that out of them a bit sharpish.

Absolutely gotta bolster this squad!!!

They were suppose to be our squad for this season,no more shite they are kids as they are not.
I just went and watched that pil aboye of shit

There's a squad and theres a 1st team? How many of the 1st team played together in that match and do you honestly believe that bbm was worried about result? Disappointed yes but long way to go to start season...this game far to early in pre-season
To be playing a team preparing for Europa Cup in 2weeks and it showed.

Wait to start of season then can say it? Otherwise bit premature with no investment.... whar gets me People say hey trust bbm people say tan trusts bbm yet people are showing complete lack of trust and confidence in bbm to get the players he requires before start season? Do people think he's just sitting on sun lounger (although was in Saundersfoot other day) what do know if tan hasn't given him something to get players or a promise bbm would be gone by now unquestionably.

We were officially promoted on 18th April.

You would have hoped that would have given us a head start in our planning for life back in the Championship but almost three months later we've signed a player who was already at the club and a few youngsters for the under 21s.

Now, behind the scenes could be a hive of frantic activity with numerous medicals lined up and players about to sign but so far this preseason feels a lot like last seasons - a couple of loans may turn up and maybe a signing later in the window.

I think we need more and we need it quickly.

We shipped 5 twice last season in L1 and lost a few 3-1s. In 2 of those 4 games Wintle did not start.....

BBM needs a top-end Championship 6 or we are toast unless he ditches Pep ball and that's never happening

Very simply, friendly or not, 6-0 defeats are rare, even rarer at home and comical for a team that is on a high after a successful promotion season.

I get the fitness but when you cant find a pass to a player less than 10 yards away, its criminal.

This line up? A sign of things to come?

Re: Cardiff City’s 1st Home Friendly of the Season ended EMB

In 2004 City were unbeaten throughout their preseason winning 6 out of 8 matches. City got relegated that season finishing bottom. Pre-season has no bearing on how your season will be at all. Today was a training game featuring two different City sides either half and many of those were academy players. The result is not embarrassing it's irrelevant. It was a training game and trying to draw conclusions on the team are stupid even more so as this was their first pre-season match. Please can everyone have a bit more patience and common sense.
