Was/is the decision (either way) all down to CB? :?

Exactly, they may have started negotiating and thought, sod this, he's going to be difficult to work with, or realised that the others were better anyway?

Either way, he's back on the Wales job, by the looks.

Bellamy made the decision to talk to Burnley. Whether it was his own decision or Burnley's decision why the move didn't go ahead, is irrelevant.

The manager of our country should be 100% committed. Bellamy choosing to talk to Burnley shows he is willing to consider other options. If Bellamy was 100% committed and didn't want to leave, he would have instantly turned down Burnley's approach and given a statement saying how much he loves his country.

It's different with club management, moving from one club to another. This is Bellamy wanting to leave his own country for club management.

I can't support Bellamy anymore after this and he was starting to take us backwards anyway. I want him gone, it'll be the best outcome for everyone now.

Yes, indeed, mate. If it was Craig’s direct decision, his position as Wales national manager has to be questioned

My original question was actually aimed at the ‘how and/or why?’ Craig was reportedly leaving the Wales job

As I’ve said elsewhere, there has been some talk of a fallout with the FAW (or part of)? :?

According to geraint the ssn reporter bellers interest in Burnley was supported by moony at faw... everything was done above board as bellers is expected to leave after euros as he wants to go into club management at end contract he as stated 4yrs is enough for him unfortunately Burnley came in to test the waters all be it a little early...... Its said gheres no bad blood between bellers and faw or players regarding Burnley offer

Some of these posts are bonkers. I'm pretty sure everyone here would have behaved almost exactly the same way. It's easy being high and mighty but it would have been a huge cash bump for Bellamy and I'd be shocked if he gets a better offer. To the people saying this somehow effects his ability to manage the team, how?

If all the facts are correct then I agree.

I don’t mind Bellamy personally but I think it’s impossible for him to carry on managing Wales.

Would have to agree. It’s left the national team in the worst spot.

“I love being here”
“I’m leaving for something better”
“I’m staying, they wouldn’t meet my demands”

He’s got a job on his hands mending the relationship with the players and the supporters now. Whether it’s possible, is another matter.

No issue with that.

But saying "it's the best job" and then getting closer to leaving because you're offered a few extra quid won't sit well for some.

My issue isn't that personally. It's that he failed to take us to a World Cup which had more teams than ever before.

Have you seen the players at our disposal??
He well over achieved to even be as close as we were. It’s not like we have a history of qualifying. Italy couldn’t get there with a much better selection of players maybe 2 Welsh players at a push get in the Italy squad.

This will leave a bad taste in the mouth for many Wales Fans and players I would have thought ?
