Wintle had a good season, that's football, progression, we move forward, hope he gets a good move somewhere, perhaps Plymouth with Rallsy.

Maybe he was asking for too much money or too long a contract. The devil is in the detail with these negotiations.
It will be interesting to see how long before he gets fixed up with a hew club.

The two times we let in five were when Wintle was not protecting the back four.

Of course its BBMs decision and it has nothing to do with budget. Wintle could do a job in the Championship but please remember how he struggled last time he was in this division. Hardly got a game at Millwall. We need a quicker No 6 than Wintle. BBM knows this and don't forget Eli King returning too.

Palace got promoted through the play- offs in the year we were champions under Malky.

They've been in the Premier League ever since and won the FA Cup . We on the other hand....

BBM will likely want a singular 6 in the middle, two 8’s in front.

If this is his decision then he must have an idea of what type of player he wants to take control of that role for the Championship. This is a league above after all.

I rate some Sunday league players I've seen better than Turnbull to be honest. If there's 20 yards with nobody Infront of him but open grass he will pass backwards or sideways . Don't rate him one bit in my opinion.

I’m not writing him off I’m just being realistic. I’ve seen him play lots of times and I think he can play L1/L2 football but if we want to do well in the championship i don’t think he’s good enough. I think if BBM doesn’t think Wintle is good enough I don’t think Eli is any better. I think he will still carve out a decent league career if he stays clear of injuries.

There's obviously a rationale for bbm letting him go.... seriously doubt it's about money more to do with bbm moving up player wise.... he's been here 5 yrs so time to move on

I think this is a clear indication that the club has given BBM complete faith in the squad he is building.

As good as Wintle was on the pitch, he was clearly also a huge presence in the dressing room. If BBM has decided that the club needs to move in a different direction, I’m sure he has his reasons.

He obviously believed RW was more than capable at League One level, given the pivotal role he played this season.

The way RW has spoken about the decision being completely out of his control also suggests there may not even have been a contract offer on the table at all. That would point to BBM simply having a different plan going forward, one that unfortunately doesn’t include RW.

Whatever happens next, I’m just glad he got to finish his time with us on such a high, winning Player of the Season and promotion. He would be an amazing free signing for a football playing league 1 side or lower end championship team, like if Bolton were promoted.

Very disappointed he is leaving as without doubt you need a squad to be successful and he would play a decent reliable part. This is BBM decision for sure not the club
