We will see at the end of the season if he was right or not. But it’s not as cut and dry as that there’s many reasons we struggling recently for me mostly because Rubin is back in the side no cooncywe hitting poor form with his return. Also it’s poor substitutions along with sheer and utter stubbornness not to change our game plan no urgency at all when needed. My dad rang me after the game to say the commentator was mocking us through out the game, the crowd the lack of urgency the left to right and backwards.

We will still go up but lots of work for Murphy on the close season and only then will we know if he is the real deal.

Even if we sneak up he’s right.

We gambled to not strengthen and thankfully this is a very low standard league

Crowds dwindling

We seem to have become disjointed since Rubin has been back. Even when Salech was injured we were still getting results. In the last 6/7 matches we have been poor in general. Kellyman and Ruben Colwill doesn't work. Both go missing, yes they can produce moments of magic, but in this league its consistency thats needed. Joel was producing this and is very dynamic and hard working.
We could have easily lost today , which is criminal. Blackpool were a very poor team, just put men behind the ball.
I hope this doesn't come back to bite and we get dragged back into the playoffs. I have been around too long to say this wouldn't happen.
Very frustrated.

A performance that bad and the usual suspects jump straight on rubin, yes he was shit today but so we're the majority of the others, the fact is we've been worked out the blueprint on how to stop us scoring is there for all to see now

Salech is back now and that will be enough to see us limp over the line but my free season ticket looks a lot closer today than it did last week

Re: CARDIFF CITY TODAY / PLEASE PLEASE NOBODY SAY A

I don’t think many are seeing how static we are in the centre of the pitch. Kellyman has unreal skill and control, but without the ball he doesn’t move.

We pass side to side because nobody moves centrally, the Colwills did but it needs almost a synchronised movement of 2 or more players to break the defensive shape. Robinson did that for the first few minutes then stopped.

The way it went, the amount of possession and chances we had, it had defeat written all over it. Glad we didn’t slip up and drop the point but it’s definitely 2 points lost today

It's simple, it's now all about results and today's result was not good enough.

physically feel sick - the amount of games not just lost but not scored simple goals and defended so poorly

no strength in squad January if we were to get promoted - this squad be straight back down truth be known - - given it to a Lincoln now without a fight and the imps deserve it ... :bluebird: TAXI

It has nothing to do with waiting until the end of the season. He was right to say we needed reinforcements. Why limp or even slither over the line in 2nd place when we could have had a proper go at going up as champions. Look at the momentum that would have given us going into next season. What would it have done to things like season ticket sales etc.

It was a missed opportunity...all to save a little bit of cash.

Having said that, no amount of reinforcements would have made a difference I suppose coz Rubin is on the pitch innit. Don't make me laugh pal!

I made a point today of watching the City players who didn’t have the ball when we’re in possession.
Absolutely zero movement. Hence why the tippy tappy sideways and backwards crap.
We did shoot more today but it was almost out of desperation as we were clueless.
Tanner is poor and an impact player at best, certainly not a starter. Kellyman is a 10 and not a striker or winger. Ashford too lightweight.
If we do manage to crawl our way up, we’ll need better than BBM at the helm. His lack of any plan B (presuming theirs a plan A) is as bad as his haircut.

This is exactly how we did when we went up under Malky.

Hopefully next season goes better than the year after.

Im glad I didn't waste a sunny Saturday watching that dros. Predicted a draw on the poll as BBM has no plan B. Hopefully the International break will be a much needed break. It was always going to be a struggle at this stage of the season with such a small squad. The Cardiff board don't understand Lessons Learned i.e. lack of investment. Lets hope it doesn't cost us promotion or we will be in this league for years to come. :bluescarf:

Lincoln Winning 2 nil

Re: CARDIFF CITY TODAY / PLEASE PLEASE NOBODY SAY A

Sat Mar 21, 2026 3:44 pm

it's a point on the table
yes we should have done more to get that goal BUT Salech will return next game as will Isaak Davies
so even though our team just keeps plucking along with draws it will only get better when we have
our target man up front in Salech. Who I expect on the bench for Peterborough away and start against Bolton at home.

Personally there were things that I would have changed
like why on earth we dont play Joel AND Rubin together again.
I would have had Rubin as our striker and joel in midfield with Wintle
I would be happy to rest Robertson as he offered little.

I am still not convinced on Robinson due his lack of urgency and pace.

BUT like I said Salach and Isaak Davies return will boost the chances we get in front of goal and win games that will take
us to the finish line.

When Salech returns I want to see
SALECH
-
KELLYMAN
-
WILLOCK - JOEL COLWILL - RUBIN COLWILL - TANNER
-
BAGAN - LAWLOR - FISH - PERRY NG
-
TROTT

Totally agree with this, and it’s not putting all the blame on Rubin. It works when you play one them and have Salech up front. If you play Kellyman up front you just can’t have Rubin playing behind.

Malky dropped our key player in Whitts when teams just placed a man on him and stopped us playing, he found another way (Leeds away springs to mind)
Starting to doubt BBM has that in his locker, I get it, we are in different times, we have system coaches nowadays, that's more important than winning.

I don't blame Rubin either, although he did look like a lost 6-year-old at a fair ground, he has no idea where he was supposed to be, neither did Robertson and Kellyman looked like he'd never played football before!

I know people refuse to accept it. But you tell me when Colwill has been outstanding consistently above very poor 3rd tier football. Everyone wants him to succeed but he played a lot of games now and has little impact, he can’t even get in the wales squad with out relying on injuries let alone the team. Maybe i was expecting to much from him to soon, maybe after 350 games he be ready I don’t know.

So frustrating to watch that, tip, tap sideways and back with very little pace.BBM needs to learn fast that we need a plan b.Willock like Bambi on ice,NG off his game,Kellyman struggling up top,Ruben not at the races today.Ashford did well
I’m not at all worried about promotion as we will go up but BBM needs a kick up the ass and psss it on to the players.

I dont care what "monty" or any of you meltdowns say. We've won 60% of our games and only lost 20%. This is (still) promotion form.

Dress it up however you want, the day we get promoted (and we will)... some of you will still moan.

You are spot on we will go up.
I for one, am starting to look at next season these performances just won’t cut it. We can sit here and tap ourselves on the back and say how great we been, and yes we have achieved what’s needed. But we haven’t been this low for a long time and the standard is way below what we been used to. We need to really up our game and face reality Murphy has a lot of work to do and will really demonstrate if he’s is the real thing, so far it’s 10/10 for him. I’m not one to bury my head in the sand and hope everything works itself out for the best. We have to be open and transparent and face facts and reality. The real work is ahead.
